Danger averted,Female Student Caught With 2 Grenades (Bombs) In Taraba State

A senior secondary school form one (SS1) student of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Jalingo, was on Monday apprehended for being in possession of two grenades. The student, simply identified as Blessing, was apprehended by the school's security guards who were conducting checks on the students luggage following their resumption for the second term. In an attempt to smuggle the bombs into the school, Blessing, who joined the school last September, concealed the bombs inside gari and it took the vigilance of the security men to detect them. Upon the discovery, she was quickly arrested alongside her father who is said to be a retired Police Inspector from Numan in Adamawa state while the bomb disposal unit at the police headquarters was quickly called in to defuse the bombs. In 1965, Nigeria was operating regionalism, in which every region was controlling its own resources when the first set of violent agitators picked up arms to express their grievances and confront the state violently. This was before the first military coup that eventually pushed the country into civil war. While the military boys were scheming to topple the democratically elected government, it turned out that they were not alone. Court Sentences Two Men To Death For Stealing Fowls in Nigeria

OSOGBO—Justice Jide Falola of an Osun State High Court sitting in Okuku has sentenced two robbers to death for stealing fowls. The convicts, Olowookere Segun and Morakinyo Sunday, were found guilty of forcefully breaking into the house of one Mr. Balogun Tope, a police officer attached to Divisional Police headquarters, Okuku, in April 2010 and carting away some of his belongings. The convicts were charged with conspiracy, robbery and stealing contrary to Section 6(b) and 1(2)(a) of Robbery and Firearm (Special Provisions) Act, cap R 11 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Section (390)(1) Criminal Code Law, Cap 34, Laws of Osun State, 2002. The prosecution team, led by the state Solicitor-General, Mrs Abiola Adewemimo, called six witnesses and tendered several exhibits during the prosecution. Group demand arrest and prosecution of Sen. Shaaba Lafiagi over murder of 3 youths in Lafiaji

Kwara Must Change is calling on the federal government to immediately effect the arrest and prosecution of Senator Shaaba lafiagi, over the gruesome killing of 3 youths in Lafiagi town. The murder of the three youths took place during the November 17 protest against the poor representation provided by Mr. Shaaba Lafiagi, the senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District. Kwara Must Change had, on November 23, petitioned several agencies, including Police, Army, Federal Ministry of Justice, National Human Rights Commission and others, to demand a proper investigation, arrest and prosecution of the culprits and to get compensation for the victims’ families. The NHRC acknowledged the petition through a letter dated 27 November, 2017.
