THE 4TH SCHOOL OF THOUGHT IN KWARA

THE 4TH SCHOOL OF THOUGHT Abdulrazaq O Hamzat. It’s my pleasure to be here with you all. I have read many comments; observations and propositions on what should be the focus of discussion in moving Kwara forward. Everyone who shared their view on the subject matter has some valid points and we must not discard any point of view. May I seek, most respectfully, your kind indulgence to address one key issue, which seems to be consuming our time in charting a way forward. Unseating the dynasty ruler-ship or enshrining good governance. In my view, Kwara can’t have good governance, unless we unseat the dynasty. This is why all efforts, energy and resources must be channeled into achieving the sole purpose of unseating the dynasty before any other discuss. Democracy works for all, when different people have the opportunity to bring in their different ideas for the sole purpose of making life better for all. This is why they say that the worse democracy is still better than the best militar

Nigerian Music rules the world, as Wizkid emerge best international act

Image
. In what turns out to be the best moment for Africa and Nigerian music in particular, Nigeria’s star boy, Wizkid has emerged the best International act ahead of U.S heavy weight such as Jay Z, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B and others. In a similar feat that further establishes Nigeria’s superiority in the Music world, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido also trashed Wizkid, Sarkodi and others to emerge best African act. All these happened in just one night, in the 2017 edition of Mobo Award event held at the First Direct Arena, Leeds England. Jay Z recently got 8 nominations in this year Grammy Award, while Kendrick Lamar got the best act in BET award for 2017 as well as 7 Grammy nominations. Nigerian music is now the best thing happening in the music world globally and Wizkid, Davido and other Nigerian acts are leading the shine.

How Nigerians helped Wizkid defeat Jay Z, Drake and others to emerge best international act

Few months ago, when U.K based Mobo award made its list of nominees for the various categories in the 2017 edition public, Nigeria’s music star, Wizkid was nominated in the International category along side U.S music heavy weights such as Jay Z, Drake, Kendrick Lemar and others. Immediately Nigerians heard that their own star boy is the only Nigerian on the international category list, many took it upon themselves not to only visit Mobo site to vote for the Nigerian Music star, but some also took a step further to launch online campaign to urge many others to vote for Wizzy. Mr rights and is team also voted for Wizkid in the international category, while voting for Davido in the best African act category. We equally did some online campaign to get many others to vote for Wizkid. As already established, Nigerians are always united in supporting their own when an opportunity present itself, this is exactly what played out in this years Mobo award, which saw star boy’s wizki

EXAMINING THE VARIOUS PROPOSALS FOR RESTRUCTURING, SEPARATION AND NON-NEGOTIABLE UNITY: A CRITICAL ASSESSMENT

BY JAYE GASKIA ......... One of the most enduring manifestations of leadership failure, and elite incompetence of Nigeria’s ruling class and all its factions and fractions, is the persistence and seemingly recurrent urgency of the question of unsettled nature of negotiated consensus on access to and control of power – political and economic within the polity called Nigeria. During colonialism, on the road to flag independence, the question was posed as that of the nature of the emergent Nigeria state, whether it was going to be Federal, confederal or unitarist. This failure to agree a sharing formula with respect to access to state power and therefore control of national wealth and treasury, given the allocative character of the Nigeria state has continued to dog successive generations of Nigeria’s ruling class. And the more impoverished Nigerians have become, the more exclusionary the state has become, and the greater the level of decline in the quantum of wealth in the national trea

Let’s humanize all people to avoid anarchy

By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat .I was part of a group that had discussion with Greg Pirio, a communication specialist, principal partner at Africa Analytics (A2) and a research professor at Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution in Abuja on 19th Oct 2017. I represented our organization, Foundation for Peace Professionals in a focus group discussion that has other civil society organizations in attendance. The subject of the discus was circled around coming up with positive alternative messages to counter the current negative tirade flying all over the media space. The gathering all agreed that consistent broadcast of negative messages by advocate of sectional and partisan interest is a major factor brewing violence and tension in Nigeria and the earlier we begin to counter the negative messages with more positive ones, the better for us and the country. While it is true that every country has its own challenges, countries that allowed negative messages dominate its media space g

NATIONALISM A lecture by Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub El-Zakzaky On the Occasion of Nigeria’s National Day organised by the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on 1st October 1992.
