NHRC begin investigation on Lafiaji extra judicial killings

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said it has commenced investigation into the unfortunate extra judicial killings of 3 youths in Lafiaji town on 17th November 2017.

The commission stated this in an acknowledgement letter to a popular Kwara based advocacy group known as Kwara Must Change.

The extra judicial killings, which was reportedly ordered by Senator Sha'aba Lafiaji was registered as C/2017/8542-8547/HQ and the commission said it is currently receiving attention.

A People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative aspirant, Ms Aisha Osori, has dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after emerging winner on the PDP platform. Osori made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the APC national secretariat. NAN recalls that Osori emerged winner at the just concluded AMAC/Bwari federal constituency primary in the Federal Capital Territory. Corps Member Builds & Tests Drone In Osun

Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, among other dignitaries, watched in admiration how a drone built by a corps member posted to Osun State took off and carried out surveillance of the parade ground at the Permanent Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps on Monday. The corps member, Olaolu Ayoola, a graduate of Computer Science/ Engineering of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, stole the show with his project during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2014 batch ‘C’ of corps members deployed in the state. Opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, alleged that the Federal Government was planning to use security agencies to rail-road its leaders into detention. It claimed that suspicious summons being planned by security agencies, particularly the Department of State Security Service (DSS), would start with its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
