NASS SIEGE: JONATHAN POSES THREAT TO DEMOCRACY, SAYS ATIKU Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has slammed the crude methods the Jonathan administration is us ing to harass and humiliate perceived political enemies. Reacting to the incident at the National Assembly on Thursday when heavily armed security operatives prevented Speaker Aminu Tambuwal from gaining access to the House to preside over the deliberation on the extension of emergency rule in the North-East, the former Vice President said in a statement by his media office that the “siege mentality” of the Jonathan administration poses grave threats to Nigeria’s democracy, the rule of law and the separation of powers as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended. "Obviously, the emergency rule has failed to stem the unrest. The Federal Government must work with, rather than against those who understand and have been elected by the people to govern," Atiku counselled. According to Atiku, this cru

BUKOLA SARAKI: AN UNWANTED MENACE IN KWARA STATE -MR.RIGHTS Distinguish Senator Bukola Saraki,  Sir, permit me to greet you like your loyal supporters do, ‘’Sai leader’’. Before I proceed sir, let me bring your attention to the unreasonable situation within the Kwara state civil service which not only ridicule Kwara as a state, but shows the ruthless caliber of leaders leading the state. It was gathered that, when a civil servant in Kwara state gain promotion from level 1 to 2, his or her salary only increases by one hundred naira (N100)? (GL01-N18,499.26- GL02-N18,586.63). After many years of hard work, if he gained another promotion to level 3, another two hundred and fifty naira (N250) (GL02-N18,586.63- GL03- 18,865.43) would be added to his or her salary. And it continues like that to the highest level.  I am very ashamed to uncover this embarrassment. I also learn that, from level 1 to 15, no one single civil servant earn up to N85,000 salary, no matte

Love Story Of A Unilag Babe And Bus Conductor

Something interesting happened on my way to Oshodi this morning. At the park this rough mean-looking conductor also known as “agbero” in Yoruba was screaming for passengers, his vernacular oscillating between Yoruba and pidgin English. “Oshod! Oshod!” He shouted angrily as I along with some other passengers scuttled for seats. There was this beautiful young lady who couldn’t throw caution and decorum to the wind but waited patiently until the bus was almost filled. Then she pleaded to sit by the agbero until somebody came down then she would pay for a proper seat. The agbero didn’t even look at her pretty face, he hissed and shouted to the driver to move that why didn’t she rush when others were rushing. The girl started pleading in Yoruba and clean ‘oyinbo’ english; “please, ejó, help me out sir, I know you are a good man, never mind all this shout you have been shouting (people burst into laughter). Let me sit by your side please”. Finally with much squeezing of face th

A Call For Disbandment Of This Present Super Eagles

Hello Niaralanders, I am of opinion that this present national team should be disbanded irrespective of the outcome of the ongoing match between Congo and Nigeria. The team lacks cohesion, individual skills, and above all,the technical crew is no longer competent to handle the national team. Stephen Keshi and his men destroyed the same team they built 2 years ago. 48 minutes of no meaningful shot on target from the Eagles!!! How long shall we continue to swallow the bitter pills? I am tired of this particular team and everything it represents. I want us to build a team from scratch,a team that will not feature any of the present crop of players representing us today, the man that won the last Fifa under 17 world cup should be given the mandate to rebuild our team. I want to use this medium to thank Coach Keshi and his technical crew for bringing success to us 2 years ago, but, we got to move on to the next level without them. Best Regards, Bro Konjakonja.
