2019: Middle Belt denounce Atiku, stick to Olawepo-Hashim

A leader of the Middle Belt Forum, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (Rtd) has said that the Forum will stick to its earlier endorsement of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT) for the 2019 election, Mr. GBENGA Olawepo-Hashim. Suleiman, who stated this at a meeting with members of the Forum in Abuja said that he and a number of the Forum's members were not carried along in the adoption of former Vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) in the February 16 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by the ethnic Nationality groups cutting across the North and South. PDP will not win a single seat in Kwara State- Survey

A survey conducted by leading Pro-Democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change (KMC) has indicated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) may not, in the 2019 general election, win any seat in the home state of Nigeria’s Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki. This is contrary to the assumptions of people outside Kwara State that have been projecting Kwara as a strong hold of the PDP. The survey conducted by Kwara Must Change (KMC) about 2 weeks ago revealed that the Senate President will not return to the Senate and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will lose the upcoming election in Kwara State with a very wide margin. A leading Pro-Democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change has listed names of people whose lives have been put under consistent threat by political thugs loyal to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State. Women and youth groups in Kebbi state have refused to attend presidential campaign of People's Democratic Party (PDP). They declared support and rally for the presidential candidate of People’s Trust Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim. State coordinator of the People’s Trust in Kebbi state, Alhaji Garba Yauri said on Saturday in an interview on the occasion, that the groups have vowed not to support other presidential candidates in 2019 but People’s Trust Olawepo Hashim because he knew their problems and would represent them in government.
