Draw example from Jesus Christ, Olawepo Hashim urges Christians

In this season of Christmas I join our Nigerian Christian community to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The commemoration of the birth of Christ presents us with an opportunity to be our neighbours’ keeper, to show love to the less privileged in our society and to do more good to all around us. In keeping with the teachings of Christ, I enjoin every Nigerian to foster peace and to draw from the example of Christ by providing shelter to those who can't afford to have one within this period. As we celebrate, let us also remember the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, who constantly put their life on the line to protect and preserve our Nation. Let us remember those who have lost their life in the fight for our unity and lend a helping hand to the family they left behind. This period also presents us with an opportunity to reflect on the great task that lies ahead as we go to the polls. Let us be reminded that we have the opportunity to rewrite the history o

Breaking News: AD presidential candidate stepped down for Olawepo Hashim

Image
In the early hours of today, Prince Eniola Ojajuni - Presidential Candidate contesting on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) officially stepped down for Mr. Gbenga Olawepo Hasimi, the Presidential Flag Bearer of the People's Trust Party (PT) after due consultations with the National Party Leaders of the Alliance for Democracy, Governorship, House of Assembly, House of Senate and Representative Candidates of over 18 states contesting on the same platform and other support groups across the country. In furtherance, Prince Eniola Ojajuni admitted it was a difficult decision to make because of his love and patriotic act for Nigeria. He therefore used this medium to appreciate all Nigerian Youths that have been supportive from the beginning of the race to this present moment and made a vow to continually fight for a new Nigeria. In addition, he specially praised His Excellency, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo Hasimi of the People's Trust Party for his doggedness, intelligence

Prof Yemi Osinbajo should resign

Prof Yemi Osibanjo has dropped the final card, the ethnic card is one which only desperate politicians use, I remember meeting with him in November last year where we deliberated on very important national issues but I noticed we were all Christians. It's quite unfortunate that the ruling party does not have projects and results to use to campaign but rather would resort to using ethnicity in our already dangerously divided nation. A man of Osibanjo's credentials should never been seen peddling such garbage, the nation today is in desperate need of a true visionary leader not some ethnic jingoistic individuals, presidency 2023 should never even be in the bargain for now, but it's obvious they don't care, it's to them about power and who sways it. I am disappointed in the person of Yemi Osibanjo, a supposed pastor who suddenly has become a tribalistic politician who sees nothing wrong with his decapitated administration that is being controlled by two indivi

I do not know Tinubu or Lai Muhammed, Kwara Must Change Convener –Abdulrazaq Hamzat

Image
Few weeks ago, my attention was drawn to an agitprop and hogwash material circulated online by agents of the Senate President titled: Brief History of Kwara Must Change anchor (Tinubu’s Agent in Kwara). My initial reaction was to ignore it because i do not think it is worthy of my response. However, i am now forced to issue this response because of genuine concerns by friends and associates concerning the content of the material. The material, which also made it to the front page of nairaland, Africa’s largest forum was circulated by emissary of the ruling government in Kwara State in a desperate attempt to link the Pro-Democracy struggle of Kwara Must Change to end oppression and enthrone people’s governance to some imaginary sponsors that do not exist anywhere. It is important to note that, this is not the first time the Bukola Saraki led dynasty will be attempting to link Abdulrazaq Hamzat or Kwara Must Change to Former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu and Minister of Inf

My Presidential Candidate, PACT convener call on Nigerians to join Olawepo Hashim

Image
MY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Please Meet my choice of Presidential Candidate for the coming 2019 elections, I have met with Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim for a couple of weeks now and discussed very serious national issues, he has demonstrated his capacity and understanding of the challenges we are faced with as a nation. He understands that the first thing to achieve is building trust between the people and the government, this is the foundation for any national development, it's upon this all important foundation that every other good sprout from, and to achieve this, it's necessary to have a people centred policy but most importantly a political process that is powered by the streets and not the vault of the CBN or the treasury of the establishment. I have given my full support to him knowing fully well well that he is ready to give the major players a good fight. His $4trillion economic plan is very explicit and achievable considering our tremendous human and material resource

Shiite Killings: Citizens Against Humanity

Image
I have come to the very sad conclusions that, majority of Nigerian citizens are worse than their leaders. Maybe not so worse, but a true reflection of our leaders. When our leaders do evil, that even satan (the condemned one) often try hard to compete with, we justify the evil and even commend it. What that means is that, if given the opportunity, majority of us will do the same or worse. If given the chance, majority of us will create greater poverty in this country than we currently experience as the poverty capital of the world. If given the opportunity, we would act with greater impunity and tyranny. We will kill as much people as we desire and bring as much hardship on our people. If in the position of slight advantage, we will oppress the weak, downgrade the poor and deny everyone of what is rightfully theirs. This is the reality we have been shying away from over the years. We do not want to believe that we are all part of the problem, but indeed, we are a reflecti

How RuggedMan and 9ice elevated Afrobeat

Image
10 years ago, after Tuface Idibia had blessed the world with African Queen, two (2) Nigerian Music legends, Ruggedman and 9ice released a popular joint that would change the history of African music in the world forever. The smashing hit song, titled ‘’Ruggedy Baba’’ was the turning point for afrobeats music, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa as a whole. As you may have known, Nigeria is the heart of Africa and where ever Nigeria goes, the rest of Africa follows. Ruggedy Baba was a song that espoused, bolstered and propagandized the concept of mother tongue in hip hop music, transposing the myth of rappers who often claimed that only those who rap in English like Americans are truly hip hop heads. The boastful ‘’Ruggedy Baba’’synthesized hip hop music with traditional tune that was not very popular at the time and produce a masterpiece of Afrobeats music that would go on to inspire confidence in the younger generation of African artists and embolden them to confidently incorpo

PT will resist attempts to turn Nigeria into two party state- Olawepo Hashim

Image
The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT), Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has said that his party will resist the attempts by some dominant political forces to turn Nigeria into a two party state. The Peoples Trust candidate, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Ibrahim, said that the party is aware of some subterranean moves by certain forces to strangulate the emerging political parties and turn Nigeria into a two party state. The candidate of the Third Force Movement said that any attempt to turn the hand of Nigeria’s democratic progress backwards and curtail the fundamental rights of the people to associate will be resisted squarely. He said: “There is no democracy in the world where choices are restricted to one or two parties. Even in the United States of America, where you have two dominant parties, there is multiplicity of parties that are allowed to participate in the process. “The PT is the biggest of all the new political parties according

Trending video of extrajudicial killings by soldiers unfortunate, says FPP

Image
Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) has intercepted a trending and disturbing video online, in which soldiers of the Nigerian army are seen in the video, marching two (2) harmless civilians into a location for execution, over the simple offense of coming out during curfew as heard from one of the soldiers. As the heart breaking video proceeded, the two harmless citizens were seen being gunned down by 3 soldiers who were also celebrating the heinous crime against humanity. In the trending video, the soldiers didn’t just gun down the harmless citizens after leveling all sorts of unsubstantiated allegations against them; they also gunned down their donkeys, firing more than 30 shots in the process. We regret to say that this gruesome extra-judicial killings of innocent citizens is unfortunate and unacceptable, as it is counterproductive to our quest for peace and justice This unfortunate exposure came out barely a week after the International Criminal Court (ICC) accused th

Why People's Trust Olawepo Hashim Trended On Twitter yesterday

Image
People's Trust Presidential Candidate, Mr Olawepo Hashim who has promised to create a $4trillion economy for Nigeria and pay workers #50,000 minimum wage trended on Twitter with #TrustHashim2019 yesterday. Olawepo Hashim trended amidst the trend of 2019 presidential Debate. Mr Hashim who is also the presidential candidate of the 3rd Force movement recently over took President Muhammadu Buhari of APC and Alh. Atiku Abubakar of PDP as the most talked about candidate on the social media, particularly on Facebook while reacting to his exclusion from the debate declared that the debate is an APC debate. According to him, the APC is doing everything possible to shut out the third force so that they can an easy ride with the discredited PDP. But he assured that this would never happen and that both PDP and APC will be sent parking in 2019. According to data released by analyst last week, more than 28,000 people are talking about Olawepo Hashim on Facebook, compared to only 24000

FPP Nominated for NCMG Prestigious Peace Award

Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP), an independent Non-Governmental Organization for Professional Peace Advocacy, Research and Conflict Transformation received with great honour, our nomination for the NCMG prestigious Peace Award in the Institutional Peacebuilders category. The 2017 edition of this award category was won by the #BringBackOurGirls movement led by former Minister of Education and 2019 Presidential Candidate, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili. North in Nigeria’s Workforce: Priority determines motivation

Image
By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat In 2014/2015, a highly respected mentor offered me a fortuity to pursue a Master’s degree programme in United Kingdom. The interesting part of this was that, the mentor did not just want me to pursue a master’s degree in UK; he wanted me to do it in the same institution he attended (University of Buckingham), where he emerged as the best graduating student in his class. He also wanted me to do the same course as him (Global Affairs) so I can possibly advance the reputation of Nigeria in that department. According to him, he believed am luminous and effulgent enough to excel not only in that institution, but also in the course like he did and having Studied Peace and Conflict Resolution (PCR) in my first degree, I also thought that going for Global Affairs (G.A) as master’s degree concentration in a posh institution like The University of Buckingham isn’t a bad idea. Though, I had my reservation about working or studying abroad. My mentor wasn’t joking a

Update on 15/70 year old marriage debacle- MrRights

Image
This lady is not 15 year old as being claimed. She is actually 20. But her situation is one of many things wrong with the northern Nigeria. This is her 3rd marriage. At age 20. I mean at 20, she has been married thrice, divorced twice. Isn't that worrisome? Although, she wasn't forced into this marriage with her 75 year old husband as being insinuated, but the society has forced her into a life of perpetual misery and psychological instability. What can a girl of 20, who has been married 3 times teach her kids? What did she know actually? I won't be surprised if this lady already had more than 3 kids from her 2 previous marriage. Now she is in her 3rd marriage and life goes on. Sad

BON's fraudulent Presidential Debate and APC hatchet job - Mr Rights

Image
The recently released list of political parties to participate in the 2019 Presidential debate by the Nigerian Elections Debate Group (NEDG), Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) and Channels Television is a far cry from what is expected from a body that is expected to be neutral and independent. The neutrality of the debate organizers were called to question, after the third force presidential candidate, Mr Olawepo Hashim of the People’s Trust (PT) was surprisingly omitted from the list of participants, in favor of little active Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) and Young Democratic Party (YDP). The vibrant Peoples Trust (PT) is one of the 28 newly registered political parties and the party is fielding frontline presidential candidate, Mr Olawepo Hashim. In the recently released list of political parties fielding candidates for the 2019 general elections, the list of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicated that Peo

NOUN students forgive those who discriminated them, but won't tolerate recurrence

Open University students forgive those who discriminated against them, but won't tolerate recurrence Congress of Noun Students (CONS), the umbrella body of students at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has warned the federal government of Nigeria against subjecting students to unnecessary difficulty. The body, through a statement by its president, Comrade Tijanni Olawoyin noted that it appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to the NOUN amendment bill, but advised that government should desist from creating institutions without adequate plan for them. Data analysts involved in the polling project posited that the data on each of the

Is Open University the best institution in Nigeria?

Image
A post recently made on facebook by Abdulrazaq O Hamzat, a former President of Congress of NOUN Students (CONS) has generated a new debate about the position of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) among institutions in the country. Hamzat, who is still in court against management of the institution over his unlawful expulsion in 2015 for exposing corruption and forming a student association declared that, despite all the challenges confronting the University, the Open University is still the best in Nigeria. In his words, ‘’ National Open University of Nigeria is the best institution in Nigeria’’ While some people expressed their disagreement with the former NOUN student leader, In the discussion that followed, Hamzat argued that, there is no institution in Nigeria with it’s own standard dedicated course materials apart from Open university. These course material, he maintained are the best anyone can find anywhere around the world. Hamzat also argued that, an average

Image
Presidential Candidate of People's Trust (PT), Mr Olawepo Hashim has declared that 2019 will be Nigeria's year of glory. The third force presidential candidate stated this after reacting to question on the refusal of President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the electoral amendment bill during an interaction with journalist in Lagos. According to him, “Next year is Nigeria’s hour of glory, and we will not allow anyone to prevent the glory of God from shinning on the nation. Hashim maintained that, We have come a long way as a nation and Nigeria is no longer an entity that can be towed with, especially with the level of sacrifices our people have made”. The Frontline Presidential Candidate had earlier accused the two dominant parties, the All Progressive Party (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of playing politics with the nation’s stability through the way and manner they are handling the electoral act. He told reporters that the supposed top actors are fall

Electoral Bill: APC, PDP guilty of playing politics with Nigeria's stability Says Olawepo Hashim

Image
Frontline Presidential Candidate, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has accused the two dominant parties, the All Progressive Party (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of playing politics with the nation’s stability through the way and manner they are handling the electoral act. The candidate running on the platform of the People’s Trust (PT) and regarded as a third force in the build up to the February presidential elections stressed that rather than presenting themselves as statesmen, the candidates are rather obsessed with immediate partisan gains. He told reporters at an interactive session in Lagos while reacting to the president’s refusal to give accent to the electoral act, which he said was passed by the PDP controlled National Assembly, that the supposed top actors are falling below standards. Olawepo-Hashim stated: “The president is conducting himself like a typical Nigerian politician of the era of political decline, rather than behaving as a patriot that I have a

5 Things Nigeria is Doing Better than America

These are 5 areas that Nigeria is clearly outdoing the US in. 1. Nigeria’s economy is growing five times faster than the US Most people don’t associate “West Africa” and “booming economy”, but despite the global downturn, the region is home to some growth rates that would make Ronald Reagan blush. Right near the top of that list is Nigeria, that with an average growth rate of 8.1%, are experiencing more growth than the US (a pitiful 1.5%), the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and the entire European Union… combined. 2. Nigeria has stricter anti-piracy laws than the US You read that right. Despite the RIAA, the MPAA, bills like SOPA and PIPA and 40,000 theaters all reminding you before a film of your moral integrity in regards to stealing cars, Nigeria are clearly ahead of America in fighting piracy. Their recent no tolerance laws have reaped some serious results: 26 anti-piracy raids, 6 million pirated works (worth US$5 million) seized and 145 arrests. Also, whereas arrests made

Unilorin student’s suicide was drug induced -- Management

The management of the University of Ilorin has debunked media reports that one of its students, Mr. Adigun Emmanuel Adewale of the Faculty of Agriculture, who committed suicide last Thursday (November 29, 2018) resorted to the unsavory action to ventilate his frustration over his failure in his final year project. In a statement signed by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, and made available to newsmen on Thursday (December 6, 2018), the University said that painstaking investigations revealed that the late Mr. Adigun took his own life as an eventual culmination of his pathetic drug addiction, which he must have unwisely adopted to address the prolonged depression he suffered as a result of personal challenges he could not bear. Some close friends of the late Mr. Adigun revealed that the obviously depressed student had unsuccessfully attempted suicide thrice, having publicly expressed profound regret, on many occasions, that it was his "nagging younger si

Ordinary Nigerians have integrity, Olawepo Hashim declares, as he steers debate on social media

Image
Peoples Trust (PT) presidential candidate, Mr. Olawepo Hashim has steered a debate on the social media after releasing a graphic statement that simply said, ‘’ordinarily, Nigerians have integrity’’. The rising presidential candidate, who is on the mission to lead a ballot revolution come 2019 urges his supporters to share the message if they have integrity themselves. Recall that Hashim made similar remark during the People’s Trust (PT) stakeholders meeting over the weekend in Abuja, the nation's capital. According to him, there used to be a time in Nigeria, when people selling will keep commodities by the road side, indicating the prices with unmber of stones placed on it and walk away with confidence without harm and come back either hours or days to meet pick money after being sold. The third force candidate who is neck to neck with President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar explained that, when people come to buy the items, they will pick what they want, drop their
