Kwara Youths urges Yaman Abdullahi to join Governorship race

Youths in the 3 senatorial districts of Kwara State have urged Alhaji Yaman Abdullahi, a businessman and frontline politician to step into the 2019 governorship race in order to protect the interest of the people. The group, under the aegis of Kwara Ready for Change (KRC) made this known in a statement issued during the weekend in Ilorin by its coordinators in the 3 Senatorial Districts namely, Ismail Zakariyau (Kwara Central), Mallam Nasirudeen Abiola (Kwara North) and Mrs Shade Sanni (kwara South). Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN) has embarked on sensitisation campaigns to mobilise Nigerians to register in the on-going Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of 2019 general elections. The campaign tagged #GetInvolved, is part of strategies adopted by the association to ensure every eligible voter in the country is mobilized to register in the ongoing voters registration exercise. In a statement issued by GPBN President Chris Kehinde Nwandu, the campaign started on Thursday 15th of March 2018 and it is aimed at ensuring stakeholders plan the electoral process for a hitch-free 2019 general elections. Breaking: Recall Dino Melaye, Court of Appeal Orders INEC

The Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately commence the process of recalling Senator Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West. The Court struck out Dino Melaye’s appeal for lacking in merit in a joint decision delivered by Justice T.O. Awotoye. The court also dismissed the appellant’s claim that he was denied fair hearing by the electoral umpire before commencing the recall process, noting that INEC is neither a tribunal nor a court of law.
