A Nigerian man from Kwara State, has named this strange rat after Nigeria's Senate President, Bukola Saraki. This took place on the platform of Kwara Must Change.

Offa is a popular town in Kwara State, located in Offa local government area of Kwara South. Apart from Ilorin, the state capital, Offa is the most popular town in the Kwara state. Offa became globally recognised recently when some murderous armed robbers attached the town, killing more than 30 people, including 10 police officers.
