2019 Election: Nigeria Bloggers flag off campaign to get voters involved

Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria (GPBN) has embarked on sensitisation campaigns to mobilise Nigerians to register in the on-going Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ahead of 2019 general elections.

The campaign tagged #GetInvolved, is part of strategies adopted by the association to ensure every eligible voter in the country is mobilized to register in the ongoing voters registration exercise.

In a statement issued by GPBN President Chris Kehinde Nwandu, the campaign started on Thursday 15th of March 2018 and it is aimed at ensuring stakeholders plan the electoral process for a hitch-free 2019 general elections.

The month long social media campaign, which is one of the 2018 projects conceptualized by the guild is to ensure every Nigerian #GetInvolved in the process. The President said.

Bayelsa Governor ban Goodluck re-election groups in Bayelsa

Apparently miffed by the activities of various groups promoting the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates, Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has banned the activities of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN and other groups in the state. A statement signed by Daniel Iwariso-Markson, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, claimed that the groups were only brewing crisis in Bayelsa. “Those claiming to be campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan but are instead engaged in promoting subversive activities and inciting crisis and division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state will have to move their activities elsewhere,” it said. Police detain Edo Speaker over lawmakers attack   Mr.rights have learnt that, the Edo State Police Command on Thursday arrested the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Uyi Igbe, and the Majority Leader, Philip Shaibu, over the attack on a lawmaker, Abdulrazak Momoh. Momoh,   whose seat was declared vacant by the assembly in July, was said to have been attacked by thugs on Tuesday after he allegedly ignored the instruction of security men not to enter the legislative quarters. Season’s greetings to my teeming readers. Let me still serve you a morsel of politics even as we celebrate the joyous Yuletide season.
