NASS BLOCKADE: LAWMAKERS ACTED RIGHT BY CLIMBING FENCE TO PREVENT ILLEGALITY

NASS  BLOCKADE: LAWMAKERS ACTED RIGHT BY CLIMBING FENCE TO PREVENT ILLEGALITY

All over the world, If your house is attacked by criminal intruders, you can do everything to prevent them from succeeding in their unholy mission, including anything and everything within your capacity.

If you have gun, it is allowed to shoot them. If you have knife, it is allowed to cut them. If you have charm, you can juju them and what ever you have, it is acceptable for you to use them until you get help. This is an acceptable practice to defend yourself all over the world and Nigeria is not an exception.

The invaded house in this regard is the National Assembly and the owner of that house are the honorable members representing the good people of Nigeria. Each federal constituency in the country gave one individual a mandate through election  to occupy house on their behave.

On Thursday, 7 People Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in Ekiti state amid tight security, illegally reconvened the Ekiti state house of assembly and claimed to have removed the speaker. The presidency despite the glaring violation recognized the illegal act and even commended the conduct of those misguided members. While the original speaker still remain the legitimate speaker recognized by law, the security agencies under the order of presidency recognized the  illegality of the 7 PDP members over the constitutionally recognized speaker, creating a non-existing version like situation.

On the same day, similar situation was averted in Abuja by brave members of the federal house of representatives led by its distinguish Speaker, honorably Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The Ekiti state honorable helplessly watch the bastardization of Nigerian democracy by allowing criminals benefit from their illegality, while their Abuja counter fought back, putting themselves in danger to save Nigeria’s democracy. They did what must be done to prevent the rape of our constitution. Although, it may not be the best, but it is right and the only available option to save the ugly situation.

Like we all know, the executive have no right what so ever to intrude the legislative arm of government, but since they have continuously failed to honor the constitution and court ruling by attempting to use the back door, whatever means used by the lawmakers to prevent the illegality is justified.

In an attempt to justify their violation of the sacred house and the constitution, the police claimed to have an intelligent report about an intending invasion of the house by hoodlums, but we must ask, if the police did have such report which we all know is false, who should be the first they should communicate to regarding their report? The leadership of the house of of course, but no, they have no intelligent report, what they had was a presidential order to prevent the speaker from gaining entrance to the house, that is the intelligent order.

Such illegal intrusion had for some time now, being the practice of the presidency through the illegal use of the country’s security and this situation wasn’t different. It was a plan game by the presidency. They planned to do so in Ekiti and did it successfully, but their plan was truncated when they try to replicate such illegality and democratic coup in Abuja, they failed woefully.

Thanks to the brave lawmakers who had to jump the fence to save our democracy, because if they didn’t like in Rivers state, 5 lawmakers would be greater than 27, like in Ekiti, 7 lawmakers would be greater than 19 and like in Nigeria Governors Forum, 16 governors would be greater than 19. This government is known to violate every law with impunity.

It should be recalled that, as the speaker (Tambuwal) and other lawmakers arrive  upon the call of the president to address the extension of the state of emergency in northeast, the door was shut against them and at a point, teargass was shut at them severally by the police for questioning such barbaric act of legislative intrusion by the police, which the officers on duty said was an order from above (presidency). While they were standing there wondering what was happening, information emerged that some few lawmakers sponsored by the presidency like it has always done are already sitting inside the chamber trying to illegally impeach the speaker, while police prevent the original speaker and other lawmakers from gaining entrance. The violated lawmakers were infuriated upon getting this information and many began to push the gate while others climb the fence to prevent any illegality, knowing that similar situation just occur in Ekiti state on the same day.

Despite the state impunity against them, they defy all illegality to assume their constitutional role and duties as lawmakers. Many climb the fence to prevent intruders from ransacking the house, others broke the door to expose the criminals. At the end, the robber like invasion was averted and the invaders were prevented from stealing the peoples mandate. They succeeded in stealing it in Ekiti state, but not in Nigeria.

It should be noted that, when a car is set ablaze and its door suddenly got jammed, it is only right to break the glass to save the dying baby sitting inside. If you ask me 1000 times if it was right to climb fence to prevent the illegality that was prevented on Thursday at the national assembly, I would say, yes, it is right to climb fence to save Nigeria. In fact, if what it takes to save Nigeria is climbing the moon, I will support it 1000 times.

When your house is attacked by robbers and they shut the door preventing any one from coming in to save the situation, it is right to climb the fence or back door to save the situation.
If  a police is about to violate your right to live by shooting at you, it is 100% right to defend yourself through whatever means, climbing fence or whatever means you can to protect yourself. Yes, it is 100% right to protect what is legally and rightfully yours.

However, it came to me as a surprise that those whom we assume to be respectable individuals who saw this glaring truth chose to ignore truth for their selfish reasons. Some are condemning the house owner whose house was attacked, questioning the rational behind climbing your own fence to save your house from organized robbery. They must be confuse to think anyone would watch their house ransacked by thieves without doing what they must do to prevent them.

Some commentators said they should have gone back home and watch the illegality succeed. Some also said they should have challenge the intrusion in court to redress the situation which may be partially correct, but I ask..Do you forget so soon?

It all began in Rivers state, where 5 lawmakers were sponsored to remove the speaker against 27 others. They did it, but till date, what is the court judgement? Because of the success of their illegality, Rivers state house of assembly has been shutdown till date. Where is the court judgement?
If the man with impunity must be prevented, you must do what must be done when it should be done. I rise. Mr. rights
