This morning as the ongoing protest continue in unijos.the military men opened fire at student killing 3 and leaving others injured the administration have asked the student to vacate the hostel...please right now we are scared and the military people are chasing us pointing guns at us is this another war? *update*The University of Jos has now been shut indefinitely by the authorities to avoid further escalation. Danger averted,Female Student Caught With 2 Grenades (Bombs) In Taraba State

A senior secondary school form one (SS1) student of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Jalingo, was on Monday apprehended for being in possession of two grenades. The student, simply identified as Blessing, was apprehended by the school's security guards who were conducting checks on the students luggage following their resumption for the second term. In an attempt to smuggle the bombs into the school, Blessing, who joined the school last September, concealed the bombs inside gari and it took the vigilance of the security men to detect them. Upon the discovery, she was quickly arrested alongside her father who is said to be a retired Police Inspector from Numan in Adamawa state while the bomb disposal unit at the police headquarters was quickly called in to defuse the bombs. Court Sentences Two Men To Death For Stealing Fowls in Nigeria

OSOGBO—Justice Jide Falola of an Osun State High Court sitting in Okuku has sentenced two robbers to death for stealing fowls. The convicts, Olowookere Segun and Morakinyo Sunday, were found guilty of forcefully breaking into the house of one Mr. Balogun Tope, a police officer attached to Divisional Police headquarters, Okuku, in April 2010 and carting away some of his belongings. The convicts were charged with conspiracy, robbery and stealing contrary to Section 6(b) and 1(2)(a) of Robbery and Firearm (Special Provisions) Act, cap R 11 Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Section (390)(1) Criminal Code Law, Cap 34, Laws of Osun State, 2002. The prosecution team, led by the state Solicitor-General, Mrs Abiola Adewemimo, called six witnesses and tendered several exhibits during the prosecution.
