Lawmakers order IGP to recognize Tabuwal as speaker

Members of the House of Representatives committee on police affairs were on Wednesday afternoon engaged in a heated argument with Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba over last Thursday's security siege on the National Assembly.
 
The committee had summoned Abba to explain the circumstances that led some of his men to prevent Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal from gaining access into the parliament building and in the process harassed the Speaker as well as other lawmakers.

But at Wednesday’s session, Abba said some thugs tried to gain illegal access into the premises of the federal legislature.

However, the lawmakers were angry when Abba refused to recognise Tambuwal as Speaker and demanded him to revert his position. The session got heated as the lawmakers took turn to rebuff the IGP.

South East has the least number of States in Nigeria, the least number of Senators, the least number of House of Reps members, least number of State House of Assembly members, least number of Ministers at the federal level, least revenue allocation, least federal presence or Investment, least local governments, least wards and the least of everything in Nigeria. Obasanjo, Buhari Planning Interim Govt —FG

The Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, on Monday, said a plot by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to form an interim government has been uncovered. The minister said this in Lagos at the launch of a book titled, ‘Watch the Watcher,’ written by an activist, Yinka Odumakin, in reaction to Obasanjo’s controversial book, ‘My Watch’. Adesiyan said he had already directed the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba; and the Department of State Service to arrest anybody that made inflammatory statements ahead of the 2015 elections. Bayelsa Governor ban Goodluck re-election groups in Bayelsa

Apparently miffed by the activities of various groups promoting the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates, Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has banned the activities of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN and other groups in the state. A statement signed by Daniel Iwariso-Markson, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, claimed that the groups were only brewing crisis in Bayelsa. “Those claiming to be campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan but are instead engaged in promoting subversive activities and inciting crisis and division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state will have to move their activities elsewhere,” it said.
