Which ex-president before Buhari left office richer than Buhari?

Kehinde Ayoola J P, former Oyo state speaker wrote on his facebook:

A FRIEND, Barrister Folarin Sode, got me thinking yesterday. His dad had asked him which of Nigeria's former leaders pre-Buhari left office richer than Muhammadu Buhari?
* Tafawa Balewa was a poor teacher before he came to office and he lived the life of an ascetic while in office. Today, his children are not known to have shared any wealth he accumulated while in office.
* Aguiyi -Ironsi died poor. He was said to have left 10 pounds in his account. (I remember reading an interview granted by retired Maj-Gen Adeyinka Adebayo some years ago where he said he wrote a note to Victoria Ironsi to send her children to him so he might put them in schools).
* Yakubu Gowon, my main man, is not known to be wallowing in any obscene wealth today. In fact, the Plateau State govt of Chief Solomon Lar had to convert a government guest house in Jos for his use when he returned from exile in 1982. Till today, nobody has seen Gowon or any of his children living a lavish lifestyle.
* Murtala Muhammed's hurricane administration ended with him being poor. He was reported to have restituted some personal houses to government. At his death, some of his colleagues had to contribute money to assist his wife, Ajoke, to start a Botanical Garden.
* Olusegun Obasanjo left government after his first incarnation to become a farmer at Ota. Credible sources told me that he started Obasanjo Farms, Ota with a syndicated bank loan from several banks. (Note: this is Obasanjo the retired military Head of State I'm talking about here o).
* Shehu Shagari was booted out of office by Buhari as a poor man. The old man till today always needs government assistance for his usual check-ups in Germany for his troublesome eyes.
* Muhammadu Buhari we all know left office in 1985 without any wealth. That has become his Unique Selling Point, USP, in the political arena.
The era of leave-office-rich leaders began with Ibrahim Babangida. And it seems successive leaders have tried to outdo each other in insane accumulations since IBB!
May God please continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
