Kwara Freedom is unstoppable in 2019, says Kwara Must Change

Kwara Must Change, the leading pro-Democracy group in Kwara State wishes to acknowledge and congratulate Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, winner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship primary election which was held on Saturday, 6th October 2018.

With the emergence of Abdulrahman as the leader of Kwara freedom struggle, Kwara Must Change is assured that ‘’Kwara freedom is unstoppable in 2019’’.

The emergence of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is a welcome development and we believe the candidate has all it takes to deliver victory come 2019 if we all support him. We therefore urge all members of the freedom struggle to put our collective interest ahead of their individual interest.

Abdulrahman’s commitment to the Kwara liberation struggle is not in doubt, his contribution to the struggle is well documented and his passion and consistency is unrivaled.

For the first time in history, the people of Kwara State were given the opportunity to choose who to lead the Kwara freedom struggle and through a popular vote casted in the 16 local government areas and 193 wards of the state, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was chosen by the people. Kwara Must Change stand by the will of the people of Kwara.

Although, there might have been some avoidable irregularities in the process, but notwithstanding, the victory is not less seminal and Abdulrahman’s acceptability is unquestionable.

It is our view that, the decision of the people of Kwara State to choose Abdulrazaq over other equally qualified aspirants is just a matter of preference. However, since there can only be one candidate, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman is that one true candidate and we urge all other aspirants to throw their weight behind the candidate and deliver freedom for Kwara in 2019 once and for all.

In view of the situation, Kwara Must Change shall be hosting a unity press conference in conjunction with all youth stakeholders, aspirants support structures, civil society organizations and community elders in a date that may be announced shortly.
