The wind of Otoge movement (Enough is Enough) in Kwara State is currently blowing all across Nigeria to an extent that other opposition states in the country are adopting the slogan to advance their quest for freedom and political emancipation. After the 2015 election, Leading Pro-Democracy group in Kwara popularly known as Kwara Must Change (KMC) has been leading the charge to liberate Kwara State from oppression and the grip of Bukola Saraki led dynasty. The group, along with others did a lot in terms of creating massive sensitization and the result is the unrivaled awareness of the people of Kwara, giving birth to the OTOGE movement. Offa is a popular town in Kwara State, located in Offa local government area of Kwara South. Apart from Ilorin, the state capital, Offa is the most popular town in the Kwara state. Offa became globally recognised recently when some murderous armed robbers attached the town, killing more than 30 people, including 10 police officers. A popular Pro-Democracy group in Kwara State Nigeria, ‘’Kwara Must Change’’ has called for the immediate arrest of Nigeria's Senate President, Bukola Saraki in other to unravel the source of the N12 billion Saraki claimed to have used to sponsor the 2015 general election. The group, through a released signed by its State Coordinator, Yusuf Olohuntoyin during the weekend noted that, several billions of naira belonging to the people of Kwara State have been diverted into personal pocket over the years and it is time to account for them. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has tendered an unreserved apology to Kwara Must Change (KMC) group for the delay in investigating its petition over the gruesome killings of more than 3 youths in Lafiaji town, Edu local government area of Kwara State. The victims were allegedly murdered by security agents attached to Alhaji Shaaba Lafiaji, a senator representing Kwara North Senatorial district during a peaceful protest to demand accountability from the under-performing senator, who is yet to sponsor any bill at the National Assembly, nor perform his constituency responsibility. Kwara Must Change is hereby alerting the state government and the general public that flood has taken over oloje community in Ilorin west local government area of Kwara state. This is as a result of lack of drainage system to control the Atake river in the area and numerous appeal to government over the years have fallen on deaf hears. There is no drainage system in Oloje community and as a result, Atake river has always flooded the community, sometimes claiming lives in the process. Kwara Must Change has uncovered another heart breaking and endemic rot in Kwara State education sector, particularly in Kwara North and Kwara South Senatorial District in which a whole school only has one staff, who functions as teacher, cleaner and head master/mistress. Our latest discovery signifies how unimportant the state government considers education in this part of the country. In the course of Kwara Must Change’s engagement with the people across the state, we discovered that several primary schools have only one staff, that manages the administrative affairs of their schools as head master/mistress, as well as serves as teacher and cleaner all at the same time. The super staff, in addition to administrative duties, also teaches all students in all classes, from primary 1 to primary 6. Victim Kwara Must Change has compiled at least, 14 names of victims murdered in the deadly armed robbery attack that took place in Offa Community, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State. The names gathered so far include 10 police officers and 4 civilians. However, we shall continue to update the list as we gather more details. It would be recalled that on 5th April 2018, a deadly armed robbery attack took place in Offa Local government Area of Kwara State, in which several innocent lives were lost. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday re-arraigned a former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Administrative Secretary in Kwara State, Mr Christian Nwosu on charges of accepting gratification to rig 2015 general election Nwosu was charged alongside Tijani Bashir, as well as former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke who is still at large and one Yisa Adedoyin, who was earlier convicted, after pleading guilty. Nwosu had earlier pleaded guilty to receiving N30 million bribe to rig the 2015 general election results. Christian Nwosu EFCC had accused the defendants of conspiring to directly take possession of N264,880.000 which they reasonably ought to have known forms part of an unlawful act, which is gratification.
