Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) have been working on a Nigeria Peace Index (NPI) since 2016. The organization's Executive Director, AMB. Abdulrazaq O Hamzat was quoted last December by Blue Print newspaper to have said that the research has been concluded and that they are only doing some internal work in preparation for the launching of the index.



Today on social media, facebook to be specific, Abdulrazaq posted a rough art work of the index with a caption'' Understanding the rate of peacefulness in Nigeria''.

Group raises alarm, as flood takes over Oloje community in Ilorin

Kwara Must Change is hereby alerting the state government and the general public that flood has taken over oloje community in Ilorin west local government area of Kwara state. This is as a result of lack of drainage system to control the Atake river in the area and numerous appeal to government over the years have fallen on deaf hears. There is no drainage system in Oloje community and as a result, Atake river has always flooded the community, sometimes claiming lives in the process. Kwara Must Change members in the area can recall at least, four lives that have been lost in this unfortunate situation. The last one was very pathetic. A young man of about twenty years old, who is the only surviving child of his parent lost his dear life to the flood, thereby throwing the entire community in mourning. They are victims of various kind of injustices or violence perpetrated by either their own government against them or by others, such as, communal clashes, terrorism, riots, religious conflicts, natural disasters and so on. Contrary to the expectation of the world population, the new world order has been characterized by more unstable and turbulent conflict situation, unhealthy power politics, destructive ethnic insurgencies, national rivalries, religious bigotry, government hypocrisy and endemic poverty, manufactured by globalization. An activist friend of mine, IG wala has declared his intention to contest the 2015 election under the platform of the PDP in his state, Gombe. And ever since his declaration, some people have littered the social media space with all sort of uninformed posting, condemnation, questioning his decision to join a party that has destroyed Nigeria since 1999 as if the PDP is the name of somebody.  To the best of my knowledge, Nobody is called PDP, we only have PDP members. A PDP member today can also become an APC member tomorrow and vice ver sa. But whatever individuals do while in a party, others who are members of the party cannot be held responsible for other peoples action, neither can their bad actions prevent other from joining the same party to advance the cause of good governance. The National Chairman of Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Dr. Jay Osi-Samuels has narrated how the party was rescued from highjackers and godfathers, saying it was not an easy task dealing with political and so called spiritual godfathers.
