Jonathan’s Campaign Team Trapped In Maiduguri

Members of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team that were in Borno State for the Presidential campaign rally held Saturday, have been trapped in Maiduguri following the attack on the City by the Boko Haram sect. The team comprising security personnel as well as journalists has been moved to a secure place by security agencies in the volatile town. The team which was billed to have left for the Sunday, were affected by the curfew imposed by military authorities in the state capital. One of the members of the team told vanguard; ” we are hiding and there is serious fighting going on between the insurgents and security personnel. New facts emerging are putting into dispute the official age given by the President of Nigeria on his public service documents. Accounts from the president himself and others who dare to provide information suggest that contrary to his stated age—being born on November 20, 1957; the president was born several, perhaps 10 years earlier and is over 60 years old. The residents of Aiyelabegan Compound in Agbaji District of Okemale Area in Ilorin has called on the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and the various security agencies in Kwara state to call the supporters of Senate President Bukola Saraki to maintain the peace for which its neighbourhood has always been known for. The National Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has told President Goodluck Jonathan to stop using and dumping members of the party. He said the idea of someone working for the party and others reaping the fruits must stop. Mu’azu spoke in Abuja on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the party, which was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan. The campaign is being headed by a former Chairman of the party, Senator Amodu Ali.
