JUDICIARY Gets Full Financial Independence (autonomy), suspend strike



The federal Government has signed an MOU to implement the court Judgement granting the Judiciary autonomy FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE meaning the Judicial arm of Government will now get their monetary allocation directly from source and no longer needs to lobby for funds. this has led Judiciary workers (JUSUN) to suspend their planned strike action.

A People Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative aspirant, Ms Aisha Osori, has dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after emerging winner on the PDP platform. Osori made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing newsmen at the APC national secretariat. NAN recalls that Osori emerged winner at the just concluded AMAC/Bwari federal constituency primary in the Federal Capital Territory. Corps Member Builds & Tests Drone In Osun

Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, among other dignitaries, watched in admiration how a drone built by a corps member posted to Osun State took off and carried out surveillance of the parade ground at the Permanent Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps on Monday. The corps member, Olaolu Ayoola, a graduate of Computer Science/ Engineering of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, stole the show with his project during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2014 batch ‘C’ of corps members deployed in the state. The drone, which soldiers and other security agents present at the event described as a good one, flew for about 10 minutes before it landed. The device, fixed with a surveillance camera, can stay in the air for 20 minutes and is capable of climbing up to 500 metres. Opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, alleged that the Federal Government was planning to use security agencies to rail-road its leaders into detention. It claimed that suspicious summons being planned by security agencies, particularly the Department of State Security Service (DSS), would start with its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. In a statement issued by the same Mohammed, the party claimed that the DSS and the police were being used to harass and intimidate the opposition with a view to decapitating it ahead the 2015 elections.
