Desmond Elliot Wins APC’s Lagos Assembly Ticket

Popular Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot has emerged as the candidate to represent All Progressive Congress (APC), Surulere constituency in the incoming Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), election in 2015, after winning the ticket at APC primaries held in Lagos on Tuesday.



Desmond defeated his counterpart, Mr. Kabiru Lawal to it this afternoon.

Meanwhile, another celebrity Kenny Saint Brown (KSB) who also contested in the primaries to represent Ikeja constituency at LAHA , lost her political bid to to Mr. Folajimi Mohammed, son of National Publicity Secretary of APC,
Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) anti-violence campaign ahead of the 2019 general election, tagged ‘’vote not fight’’ has gained some moral boost, as the Commandant of Special Task Force (Operation Safe Heaven) in Plateau State, Maj General Augustine Agundu declared support for the campaign. The STF commandant, who hailed FPP for its efforts and consistency, particularly on the early warning alerts being regularly sent to the agency, urges the organization to continue to sensitize youths in the ‘’vote not fight’’ campaign and ensure youths stay away from political violence and criminality. Breaking News: Doctors reject salary increase, urge govt to improve health sector

More than 500 doctors and residents, as well as over 150 medical students in Canada, have signed a public letter rejecting their own salary increase that was approved by government reports CNBC. “We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations,” the letter says. Baruten is a Local Government in Kwara State sharing border with Benin Republic, but unfortunately, there is no road leading to the Local Government from Kwara State.
