Tambuwal Receives Court Backing To Send Inspector General OF Police To Prison
A F e d e r a l High Court sitting in Abuja yes­terday gave legal backings moves by the Speaker of the House of Repre­sentatives, Aminu Tambuwal to send the Inspector Gen­eral of Police, Sulei­man Abba to prison for disobeying court order.

Justice Ahmed Mo­hammed specifically directed the Speaker to put the IGP on notice to come and show cause why he should not be committed to prison.

Meanwhile, the court has fixed December 1 to decide the fate of five persons seeking to join in the suit as co-defendants after which hearing in the main suit will commence on December 3.

In the substantive suit against the IG, Tambuwal through his counsel, Lateef gay­bemi SAN who led eight other SANS and 69 lawyers had brought a motion ex parte ask­ing the court directing the Inspector General of Police to appear in person to show why he should not be com­mitted to prison for disobeying the order of court which earlier directed that status quo be maintained.

A leader of the Middle Belt Forum, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (Rtd) has said that the Forum will stick to its earlier endorsement of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT) for the 2019 election, Mr. GBENGA Olawepo-Hashim. Stop publishing fake news, Bloggers Guild tell media, as it urges politicians to play by the rules

The Guild of Professional Bloggers of Nigeria has urged all stakeholders in the coming elections to play by the rules and ensure free and fair elections nationwide. In a statement signed by the president of the association, Mr Chris Kehinde Nwandu, the association urged politicians not to see the coming elections as a do or die affair. “This is an opportunity for electorates to exercise their civic responsibility to select leaders without fear of violence. The Senate Arm of the Nigeria Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has approved the Membership Status of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) vide Congress of NOUN Students on a full blown structure of NANS the CONS Public relation officer, Comrade A.L Oyetoro has said. Comrade Oyetoro declared that, this was stated in the communique released and signed by the NANS Senate President Comr. Taiwo Bamigbade, Mohammed Saba (Chairman Comminque Drafting Committee) and Comr. A. Kola (Secretary Comminque Drafting Committee) after the 74th Senate Meeting / Pre-Convention held in Minna, Niger State.
