Eligibility For 2015: S-court Dismisses Suit Against Jonathan ABUJA-The Supreme Court, Tuesday, dismissed the suit seeking to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from vying for a re-election next year. A five-man panel of Justices of the apex court presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, struck out the appeal which was filed before it by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo. Delivering the ruling, the CJN, accused Ardo of inviting the Supreme Court to arrest a proceeding pending before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. He noted that the substantive suit challenging Jonathan’s eligibility is currently before the appellate court, stressing that Ardo lacked the locus-standi to move the apex court to either take over hearing on the matter or compel the appeal court to join him as an interested party...
The National Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has told President Goodluck Jonathan to stop using and dumping members of the party. He said the idea of someone working for the party and others reaping the fruits must stop. Mu’azu spoke in Abuja on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the party, which was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan. The campaign is being headed by a former Chairman of the party, Senator Amodu Ali. Mu’azu said it was injustices like this that were making members of the party to defect to the opposition political parties. BEYOND THE YAHOO YAHOO ENDORSEMENT OF PRESIDENT JONATHAN GASKIYA TAFI KOBO (TRUTH IS BETTER THAN CASH) I heard that the National Working Committee of the people democratic party (PDP) have undemocratically endorsed president Goodluck Jonathan for a second term, but we must note that, this is not what the people of Nigeria wants. It is against our will to continue with luck without hard work. Despite giving Nigerians pain and agony, exposing our lives to massive poverty and unparalleled insecurity, those who claimed to represent the people in PDP went ahead to endorse the man who is leading Nigeria astray. Let me state that, this purported endorsement of Mr.Jonathan can only hold in the houses of those who claimed to have made the endorsement, Nigerians would never fall in line to such an inhuman endorsement. The endorsement was without any consultation with the people they claim to represent, because if they inform the people what they are about to do on their behave...

Momoh, whose seat was declared vacant by the assembly in July, was said to have been attacked by thugs on Tuesday after he allegedly ignored the instruction of security men not to enter the legislative quarters. The Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Ward of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. The PDP had in a statement by its Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, on Wednesday, accused Shaibu and other APC lawmakers of masterminding the attack. It was gathered that Igbe, Shaibu and another member, Mr. Folly Ogedegbe, were invited to the state police command by the Commissioner of Police, Foluso Adebanjo, at about 11am on Thursday...
Frontline Presidential Candidate, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has chosen statesman, Chief Arthur Nwankwo as his running mate, in a move aimed at locking in South-Eastern votes in next year's presidential election. Olawepo-Hashim, who is running on the platform of the People's Trust (PT), announced at the weekend that Nwankwo would bring his grasp of political economy to bear in the shaping of public policy in the Hashim presidency, following rising projections on his chances of winning the polls. A statement signed by spokesman of the Olawepo-Hashim campaign, Hassan Ibrahim stressed that Nwankwo of the Fourth Dimensions Publisher's fame, was selected among a host of other contenders for his legendary commitment to the struggle for South-East integration, aside his popular fight for the freedom of Nigerian people. The statement noted that the pedigree of Nwankwo are consequential enough to complement Olawepo-Hashim's zeal towards "nation...
Writing on Tinubu, he said: “Nuhu Ribadu tried to investigate almost all of them to the best of my understanding. At a time, he publicly announced that 28 out of the 36 governors were either manifestly corrupt or had tainted in one way or other. He gave me a copy of his report on those governors. Bola Tinubu was definitely one of the worst cases.” The former President also took a swipe at former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, in the book, saying: “Daniel is shifty, dubious and believes he is the cleverest human being on earth.” While answering questions thrown at him, Obasanjo said he was not afraid of telling the truth, insisting that everything he wrote was true. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=94695
