Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr, Boss Gida Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The announcement was made today by Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity following sack of the suspended SGF, Mr. David Babachir Lawal. While the profile of the new SGF has been widely circulated across media and social media, here are 10 strange facts about Mr Boss that you may not find in his profile.
1. Mr Boss Mustafa is a well known friend of Mr Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of Federation. Both of them came from the same state, Adamawa and reliable information has it that, Mr Lawal actually recommended Mr Boss for the position.
2. Mr. Boss is Tinubu’s ally. Yes, he was the Deputy National Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) between 2010 to 2013. Recall that the former SGF had also praised Bola Tinubu for making his ascension to the SGF position possible. The former SGF stated that if it had been left to Northern leaders to make the decision, he wouldn’t have emerged as the candidate for the role, owing to his Christianity. 3. Don’t allow the name Mustapha deceive you, Mr Boss his a devoted Christian. In the North, anybody can bear any name, Christian or Muslim. 4. He his an influential lawyer, international business man, top class management consultant, politician, seasoned administrator and oil and gas mugul. 5. He his a former Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Chairman in Adamawa. 6. He was member, Federal Republic of Nigeria Constituent Assembly (1988-1989). 7. He was former state Chairman of People’s Solidarity Party-Gongola State (1989-1990), state chairman, Social Democratic Party-Gongola State (1990-1991). 8. He his a former gubernatorial candidate for SDP in Adamawa state in 1991. 9. He has held several political appointments and most recently, he served Managing Director/CEO of the National inland waterways Authority (NIWA), a position he hold until he was appointed SGF. 10. He was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Transition Committee.

The residents of Aiyelabegan Compound in Agbaji District of Okemale Area in Ilorin has called on the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and the various security agencies in Kwara state to call the supporters of Senate President Bukola Saraki to maintain the peace for which its neighbourhood has always been known for. Kwara worker commit suicide over unpaid salaries

A staff of Universal basic education (UBE) in Kwara state has reportedly committed suicide over unpaid salaries. The news was broken by a group, Kwara Must Change which said it regretted to bring to public attention, the death of Mr Biodun Bashir, a staff of Universal Basic Education (UBE) in Kwara State at Oyun Local Government, who recently hung himself to death over failure of Kwara State Government to pay workers salaries and their continues denial of owing workers. I came to the following conclusion: 1. There are two kind of Igbo. We have the Igbo and sectional Igbo. The Igbo person will always think global even if he his the most local, while the sectional Igbo will always reason sectional even if he his in the global community. To an igbo person, there is no superiority or inferiority, all that exists is equality. But to the sectional Igbo, Igbo is superior, others are inferior. 2. An Igbo person is the best of any human you can find, but the sectional Igbo is the worst of all human. It doesn’t matter how much they are educated, what mattered to a sectional person is his sectionalism. But this is not just about Igbo, it’s a symptom in every tribalistic person.
