10 strange facts about new SGF that you may not see in his profile

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mr, Boss Gida Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The announcement was made today by Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity following sack of the suspended SGF, Mr. David Babachir Lawal. While the profile of the new SGF has been widely circulated across media and social media, here are 10 strange facts about Mr Boss that you may not find in his profile.
1. Mr Boss Mustafa is a well known friend of Mr Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of Federation. Both of them came from the same state, Adamawa and reliable information has it that, Mr Lawal actually recommended Mr Boss for the position.
2. Mr. Boss is Tinubu’s ally. Yes, he was the Deputy National Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) between 2010 to 2013. Recall that the former SGF had also praised Bola Tinubu for making his ascension to the SGF position possible. The former SGF stated that if it had been left to Northern leaders to make the decision, he wouldn’t have emerged as the candidate for the role, owing to his Christianity. 3. Don’t allow the name Mustapha deceive you, Mr Boss his a devoted Christian. In the North, anybody can bear any name, Christian or Muslim. 4. He his an influential lawyer, international business man, top class management consultant, politician, seasoned administrator and oil and gas mugul. 5. He his a former Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Chairman in Adamawa. 6. He was member, Federal Republic of Nigeria Constituent Assembly (1988-1989). 7. He was former state Chairman of People’s Solidarity Party-Gongola State (1989-1990), state chairman, Social Democratic Party-Gongola State (1990-1991). 8. He his a former gubernatorial candidate for SDP in Adamawa state in 1991. 9. He has held several political appointments and most recently, he served Managing Director/CEO of the National inland waterways Authority (NIWA), a position he hold until he was appointed SGF. 10. He was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Transition Committee.
