Buhari didn’t steal PTF fund says Obasanjo

ABEOKUTA – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Tuesday, said the report of the probe panel he set up when he held sway as the country’s president did not indict the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen . Muhammadu Buhari of corruption during his tenure as the Petroleum Trust Fund boss. Obasanjo however, said the probe panel discovered that, the Buhari-led PTF was inconsistent in its policies, saying other probe attempts on the activities of the former Head of state ‘was immaterial’. The former President stated this while paying host to Buhari who visited him at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta before his campaign rally at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. FG planning arrest, detention of Lai Mohammed, others —APC

Opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday, alleged that the Federal Government was planning to use security agencies to rail-road its leaders into detention. It claimed that suspicious summons being planned by security agencies, particularly the Department of State Security Service (DSS), would start with its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. Apparently miffed by the activities of various groups promoting the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates, Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has banned the activities of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN and other groups in the state.
