Nigeria's Alakija Unseats Oprah As Richest Black Woman in the world

Nigerian oil tycoon, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, is now the richest black woman in the world with an estimated fortune of $7.3 billion. Mother of four, Alakija, 62, unseats Winfrey as the richest black woman in the world. According to Forbes, Oprah Winfrey is worth $2.9 billion. Africa boasts 55 billionaires and they’re worth a staggering $143.88 billion in total, according to pan-African magazine Ventures Africa. Alakija started her career as a secretary in a bank in the mid 1970s. She then studied fashion in London and returned to Nigeria to start a label, Supreme Stitches. But her biggest break came in oil. In 1993, her company, Famfa Oil, was awarded an oil prospecting licence, which later became OML 127, one of Nigeria’s most prolific oil blocks. FPP’s vote not fight campaign ahead of 2019 election get a morale boost

Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) anti-violence campaign ahead of the 2019 general election, tagged ‘’vote not fight’’ has gained some moral boost, as the Commandant of Special Task Force (Operation Safe Heaven) in Plateau State, Maj General Augustine Agundu declared support for the campaign. The STF commandant, who hailed FPP for its efforts and consistency, particularly on the early warning alerts being regularly sent to the agency, urges the organization to continue to sensitize youths in the ‘’vote not fight’’ campaign and ensure youths stay away from political violence and criminality. I do not know when GTB suddenly become this kind of a useless bank, but what one of My friend is currently experiencing is very frustrating and a betrayal of customers trust. This is what happened. A friend of mine (Ib) operate a GTB savings account in Ilorin, Kwara state, but due to his kind of job, he suddenly find himself in Delta state, a remote town that only one bank operates there (ECOBANK). Whenever he needs to lodge money into his account, there is no way to do that, but finally, he had an agreement with the ECOBANK in the town. One of the ECOBANK staff would receive the amount to be lodged in cash, then transfer the amount to his GTB account. This has been the way since he gets to that town. Women and youth groups in Kebbi state have refused to attend presidential campaign of People's Democratic Party (PDP). They declared support and rally for the presidential candidate of People’s Trust Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim.
