Facebook introduce jail option

In a move to empower group administrators on the Facebook social media platform to descipline violators of group rules and regulations, facebook has introduced a mute option to jail offenders for specific period. By jail, it means that the person’s freedom on the group will be curtailed within the specific duration of their being muted by the administrator.
This feature is considered better because before now, the only available option is for the admin to remove or block members who violate the rules of the group. However, with the option of mute, such violator can be muted or jailed for specific duration as warning.
Besides the mute option on groups, facebook had also introduced snoze option for individual profiles and pages. Facebook has given you an option to mute selected persons or communities for a brief period. With this option, users can assert control over what content they wish to see in their news feed. When the Snooze period is about to end, users will be duly notified of the same, so that the user can decide whether to end the snooze period or not. Facebook also stated that the option can be reversed at any time.

Bayelsa Governor ban Goodluck re-election groups in Bayelsa

Apparently miffed by the activities of various groups promoting the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and other candidates, Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson has banned the activities of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN and other groups in the state. A statement signed by Daniel Iwariso-Markson, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, claimed that the groups were only brewing crisis in Bayelsa. “Those claiming to be campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan but are instead engaged in promoting subversive activities and inciting crisis and division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state will have to move their activities elsewhere,” it said. Corps Member Builds & Tests Drone In Osun

Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, among other dignitaries, watched in admiration how a drone built by a corps member posted to Osun State took off and carried out surveillance of the parade ground at the Permanent Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps on Monday. The corps member, Olaolu Ayoola, a graduate of Computer Science/ Engineering of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, stole the show with his project during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2014 batch ‘C’ of corps members deployed in the state. The Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, on Monday, said a plot by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to form an interim government has been uncovered. The minister said this in Lagos at the launch of a book titled, ‘Watch the Watcher,’ written by an activist, Yinka Odumakin, in reaction to Obasanjo’s controversial book, ‘My Watch’. Adesiyan said he had already directed the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba; and the Department of State Service to arrest anybody that made inflammatory statements ahead of the 2015 elections. He said, “Many of those in the APC are disgruntled PDP members who are no longer relevant and because they could not have their way, they have started to heat up the polity.
