BIAFRA CHAT ROOM

By Oni Gbolabo I can't explain how I burst into the chat room of the Biafran early this morning, I didn't use to take them serious but today I discovered that I miss a lot for ignoring the chat room. In fact you will catch much fun and fall in love with their ideology. So funny people in that chat thread. . There were many people there Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Niger Delta, Ibibio, Efik etc. I know these people based on their chat comments which bore ethnic loyality as usual. . To start with someone said in Biafra they won't tolerate Hausa idiots or Yoruba cowards nor Ibibio/Efik who are betrayers. Another man said they will pay back Ogoni/Andoni and fakeIgbo that collaborated with Nigeria troops in PHC in 1966. Another one said Biafra is God's project in making so they won't tolerate homosexual/lesbian in that place because God hates them. Another one appeal that its not good to hinder people freedom of sexual preference...lol. . In a jivy issue of leadership came up.

15 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IGBO AND BIAFRA

Image
After observing some Igbo people carefully, I took adequate note of the way they reason, listen to their point of views, understood their fears and worries and seek to understand their unending quest for dominance, under the guise of self determination or lack of justice in Nigeria. I came to the following conclusion: 1. There are two kind of Igbo. We have the Igbo and sectional Igbo. The Igbo person will always think global even if he his the most local, while the sectional Igbo will always reason sectional even if he his in the global community. To an igbo person, there is no superiority or inferiority, all that exists is equality. But to the sectional Igbo, Igbo is superior, others are inferior. 2. An Igbo person is the best of any human you can find, but the sectional Igbo is the worst of all human. It doesn’t matter how much they are educated, what mattered to a sectional person is his sectionalism. But this is not just about Igbo, it’s a symptom in every tribalistic person.

A Third Alternative to PDP and APC – By Senator Ben Murray-Bruce

A Third Alternative to PDP and APC – By Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Months after the 2015 elections ended, Nigerian youths are still hung up on those elections. Nowhere is this more obvious than on social media which our youths have turned to a battle ground divided into pro People Democratic Party (PDP) and pro All Progressives Congress (APC) youths. So ingrained is this animosity that each group targets elected officials and party chieftains of the opposing parties and go after them just on the basis of their party affiliation. Things reached a comical stage when a youth attacked me for a tweet on Twitter and hours later was praising a popular youth for his tweet. Unbeknownst to him was the fact that the youth had merely tweeted my exact words but had not credited me with the quote! These shenanigans makes me concerned for our youth. Where they should be getting closer and breaking down barriers, they are holding a candle for politicians who in reality are not as divided as they lead

On New NSA, TRUST BUHARI ON NATIONAL SECURITY

TRUST BUHARI ON NATIONAL SECURITY Abdulrazaq O Hamzat The recent appointment of a new NSA, Major General Babagana Monguno by president Muhammadu Buhari has got many people talking. Since the announcement of Monguno yesterday as the new NSA, i have read countless reports about issues needing response. Some of those reports include articles written about him as far back as 2011. They are allegation which cannot be easily overlooked, but i do not intend to bore you with those allegations here. What is important is that, till date, no valid explanations have been given either by the past administration which he served under as Chief of Defence Intelligence, CDI or by him personally. I want to believe that, the outcome of the investigation carried out by last administration have vindicated him before now, though, it was not made public. While i agree with those asking questions about his character, i feel that the president who appointed him to his new position have more information ab

The hottest artist in Africa

Image
Is Olamide the hottest artist in Africa? Find out Few days ago, I saw a publication on nairaland which described Olamide as the hottest rapper in Nigeria. The hottest rapper here doesn’t necessarily mean the best rapper as that would take eternity to decide. What this means is that, the hottest rapper is the most accepted, most wanted, most relevant in term of making hit songs and the one who is being higly sort after by others. That is our defination of hottest. In the said publication, the writer listed 5 hot rappers in Nigeria and declared Olamide as the hottest. Other rappers listed along with Olamide include Reminisce, Phyno, Ice Prince and M.I Other commentators who disagreed with the writer quickly draw their own list of the 5 hottest rappers. In all the list made, what was constant in every commentators list was that, every one put Olamide on number one spot. I carefully read through all the lists and no one felt the number spot should go to anyone other artist other than t

5 THINGS NIGERIAN GOVT MUST MAKE ITS PRIORITY

The purpose of government is to help people live better. In the quest of governments to deliver the much needed good governance, they sometimes embark on all sorts of projects to better the out look of the society. In the course of some of these projects, government often victimize, DE-humanize and sometimes out rightly destroy people lives, families and means of livelihood. They call it collateral damage. There are just too many examples of such instances in Abuja during era of Mallam Nasiru Elrufai as Fct minister. In Lagos, during Fashola’s tenure and many others. In their justification of such engagements, they argue that, nothing good comes easy. If we want something good, we must be willing to pay the price. To them, the affected citizens whose life have been completely destroyed as a result of such projects are the prices we must pay to build a better society. For me, destroying other peoples live is not a way to development. While it is true that, the cleared area would b

Before You Become An Extremist By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat

Prophet Muhammed said: (Avoid extremes in your religion: those before you perished because they were extreme )- Nesa’ee, Ibn Majja & Ahmad The Prophet also added that, (Those who are extreme and too strict in their words and deeds will fail and perish) – Muslim. Muslims should be just and moderate, as there is no room for extremism in Islam. Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) warned Muslims against becoming extremist in every thing they do. The guided prophet warned that, Muslims shouldn’t be extremist in religious, social or cultural affairs. In fact, he warned against extremism in whatever engagements or practice. The best among Muslims are those who are moderate in all they do. Moderation means to follow a just right way avoiding extremes in our life, therefore we are not extravagant nor misers, and are not excessive in our worship but safeguard our prayers, fasting and charity; we are not harsh or soft; we do not ask of ourselves or others beyond what we are capable of.

RE: Professor Yemi Osinbajo: The President We Should Have Had

Image
Abdulrazaq O Hamzat Today, 9th March, 2015, Victoria Ohaeri wrote an article with the above title (Professor Yemi Osinbajo: The President We Should Have Had ) and for the first time, I feel the need to make a direct response to her query. In the article posted on her blog, she raised some salient points and made some observations. Also, she narrated her encounter with Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice presidential candidate of All progressive Congress (APC) and express her admiration of his character. In her words, ‘’ He (Osinbajo) talked a lot less, speaking only when necessary and with wisdom, depth and tact. Beyond his professorial accomplishments, he also has very broad international experience in global and regional roles, and across multiple disciplines’’ While commending the APC Vice President, she confessed that the professor of law is indeed competent and capable, but wonder why such a fine gentle man would be made a second fiddle if the change mantra being touted by the

AGENDA FOR PEACE WITH Mr.Rights: AVERT RWANDA GENOCIDE EXPERIENCE IN NIGERIA

Image
By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat Many years after Rwandan genocide of 1994 between Hutu and Tutsi which claimed over 1,000,000 lives, certain revelations were made as a result of critical analysis of the incident. It was revealed that, going by the media reports in 1994, the Rwandan genocide was often portrayed as a conflict based on ancient hatred between people who had been killing each other in such a manner for hundreds of years. However, those media reports were greatly misleading and proved incorrect after critical analysis. Hutu and Tutsi were not ethnic groups, but economic/political class divide. Investigation shows that, throughout history, the great lakes region had never encountered any ethnic violence between Hutu and Tutsi and there was no pattern of inter communal violence ever witnessed between Hutu and Tutsi and nothing approached or even suggested the level of violence of the 1994 genocide. In fact, in pre-colonial era, there was no any ethnic group by the name Hutu and Tuts

AGENDA FOR PEACE WITH Mr.Rights: Justifying the unjust war

Image
AGENDA FOR PEACE WITH Mr.Rights: Justifying unjust war By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat During my extensive reading about the concept of ‘’just war’’ or ‘’holy war’’, I came across several discuss about the morality of just war. In this wide discussion, several references were made to definitions, concepts and examples to justify the concept of war tagged as “just war” or ‘’holy war’’. Some of the examples that caught my attention were the references made to religious concepts both Christianity and Islam which is being cited as justification for war. Before going deep into this discussion, let me define what I mean by just war in this concept. By just war, I mean that war action undertaken by a party or a group of parties to contain the activities of an aggressor or a group of aggressors. It is a war that is waged with justification. Here, we are talking about justice in war-making based on the goodness in the motive behind the violent attitude and action, which is in reaction to an offensive

ELECTION POSTPONEMENT-THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR VIOLENCE

Image
AGENDA FOR PEACE WITH Mr.Rights: By: Abdulrazaq O Hamzat It is no longer news that the 2015 presidential election has been postponed from February 14 to March 28, 2015. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have no other choice than listen to the advise of the nations security agencies which call for the election postponement, citing security reasons. While it may be true that the security agencies seems to be influenced by some political considerations, we must remain calm and give peace a chance since the action is still within the law. Although, there are reasons to be worried. Nigerians must be worried that, this government has had 6 years to fix the security of the nation, but it has failed to do so. Will a 6 weeks shift in the election make any difference? can the government defeat Boko Haram in 6 weeks? Again, what happens if after 6 weeks, the security situation didn’t improve? Will there be additional demand for more weeks? Certainly, the reason given by t

2015 Election: No Alternative To Peace

Agenda For Peace With Mr.rights: 2015 Election: No Alternative To Peace By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat As the 2015 election approaches, let us serve as the agent of peace and be against violence. We should educate the public that Irrespective of who emerges in the 2015 election as a result of peoples choice, only in a peaceful environment can we enjoy the dividend of democracy. In the beginning of the world, there was peace, but when human erred, there was conflict. History tell us that, conflict is inevitable in human existence. Conflict could be personal, group or national. It could also be political, religious or economic. However, irrespective of the causes of conflict, we must always strive to prevent conflicts from becoming negative. Before the establishment of United Nations in 1945, there was no universal human rights and as such, there was massive conflicts across the globe. At that time, might is by law right, as rich people are allowed to be purchasing fellow humans as properti

Buhari Planning To Smuggle New Certificate To INEC Through Backdoor – FFK

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation on Wednesday raised the alarm that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari, is trying to smuggle a newly acquired certificate into the Independent National Electoral Commission through the backdoor. The PDPPCO declared that if INEC allows such a thing happen, it will put a serious question mark on its impartiality and credibility of the commission. The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, raised the alarm at a press conference in Abuja. Fani-Kayode contended that if INEC has received the certificate of the APC presidential flag bearer, it would mean that it (the commission) has collected his newly-acquired certificate 40 days outside the stipulation of the law. Chief Fani-Kayode, in the text of his address, titled: “Certificate Saga: Buhari Sinks Deeper With Lies,” said: “Yesterday (Tuesda

We Saw Helicopters Dropping Arms, Food For Boko Haram – Idps

We Saw Helicopters Dropping Arms, Food For Boko Haram – IDPs — Jan 29, 2015 Displaced residents of Monguno, in Borno State, which was recently taken over by Boko Haram, have said they saw helicopters dropping arms and food items for the insurgents in the bushes. The IDPs, who said they spent about 48 hours in the bush running towards Maiduguri, expressed worry that the Boko Haram sect was not the only ones involved in the insurgency, but that there are many foreign fighters and some external supports. Leader of the Nigeria Vigilante Group in Monguno, Muhammed Sani,50, said he had, on several occasions, spotted unusual delivery of items in big wooden boxes by air, and sacks being dropped in the bushes around Marte and Monguno where Boko Haram terrorists were camped. “Even during the attack on Monguno, there was an aircraft that came but did not do anything, not even dropping a single bomb before it left; then another one later came around the Monguno barrack
