Buhari in early lead: Follow live update of APC presidential primary Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, is comfortably in early lead Thursday as counting of votes continues in the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential primary in Lagos. As at 10.00am on Thursday morning, Buhari is leading the pack, followed by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in distant second. Atiku Abubakar follows. No single vote for Sam Nda-Isaiah yet. We will give further updates as counting continues at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, south-west Nigeria.

Eligibility For 2015: S-court Dismisses Suit Against Jonathan ABUJA-The Supreme Court, Tuesday, dismissed the suit seeking to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from vying for a re-election next year. A five-man panel of Justices of the apex court presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, struck out the appeal which was filed before it by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo. Delivering the ruling, the CJN, accused Ardo of inviting the Supreme Court to arrest a proceeding pending before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. The National Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has told President Goodluck Jonathan to stop using and dumping members of the party. He said the idea of someone working for the party and others reaping the fruits must stop. Mu’azu spoke in Abuja on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Organisation of the party, which was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan. The campaign is being headed by a former Chairman of the party, Senator Amodu Ali. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have no other choice than listen to the advise of the nations security agencies which call for the election postponement, citing security reasons. While it may be true that the security agencies seems to be influenced by some political considerations, we must remain calm and give peace a chance since the action is still within the law. Although, there are reasons to be worried. Nigerians must be worried that, this government has had 6 years to fix the security of the nation, but it has failed to do so.
