Eligibility For 2015: S-court Dismisses Suit Against Jonathan ABUJA-The Supreme Court, Tuesday, dismissed the suit seeking to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from vying for a re-election next year. A five-man panel of Justices of the apex court presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, struck out the appeal which was filed before it by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo. Delivering the ruling, the CJN, accused Ardo of inviting the Supreme Court to arrest a proceeding pending before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. He noted that the substantive suit challenging Jonathan’s eligibility is currently before the appellate court, stressing that Ardo lacked the locus-standi to move the apex court to either take over hearing on the matter or compel the appeal court to join him as an interested party in the pending appeal. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/jonathans-eligibility-s-court-dismisses-suit/

The residents of Aiyelabegan Compound in Agbaji District of Okemale Area in Ilorin has called on the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari and the various security agencies in Kwara state to call the supporters of Senate President Bukola Saraki to maintain the peace for which its neighbourhood has always been known for. New facts emerging are putting into dispute the official age given by the President of Nigeria on his public service documents. Accounts from the president himself and others who dare to provide information suggest that contrary to his stated age—being born on November 20, 1957; the president was born several, perhaps 10 years earlier and is over 60 years old.
