Eligibility For 2015: S-court Dismisses Suit Against Jonathan ABUJA-The Supreme Court, Tuesday, dismissed the suit seeking to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from vying for a re-election next year. A five-man panel of Justices of the apex court presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, struck out the appeal which was filed before it by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Adamawa State, Dr. Umar Ardo. Delivering the ruling, the CJN, accused Ardo of inviting the Supreme Court to arrest a proceeding pending before the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal. He noted that the substantive suit challenging Jonathan’s eligibility is currently before the appellate court, stressing that Ardo lacked the locus-standi to move the apex court to either take over hearing on the matter or compel the appeal court to join him as an interested party in the pending appeal. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/jonathans-eligibility-s-court-dismisses-suit/

I do not know when GTB suddenly become this kind of a useless bank, but what one of My friend is currently experiencing is very frustrating and a betrayal of customers trust. This is what happened. A friend of mine (Ib) operate a GTB savings account in Ilorin, Kwara state, but due to his kind of job, he suddenly find himself in Delta state, a remote town that only one bank operates there (ECOBANK). Whenever he needs to lodge money into his account, there is no way to do that, but finally, he had an agreement with the ECOBANK in the town. One of the ECOBANK staff would receive the amount to be lodged in cash, then transfer the amount to his GTB account. This has been the way since he gets to that town. And if they need to withdraw cash for any reason, of course, the ATM is there. But for the past 3 weeks, my friend IB has been unable to withdraw money from his GTB account. Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) anti-violence campaign ahead of the 2019 general election, tagged ‘’vote not fight’’ has gained some moral boost, as the Commandant of Special Task Force (Operation Safe Heaven) in Plateau State, Maj General Augustine Agundu declared support for the campaign. The STF commandant, who hailed FPP for its efforts and consistency, particularly on the early warning alerts being regularly sent to the agency, urges the organization to continue to sensitize youths in the ‘’vote not fight’’ campaign and ensure youths stay away from political violence and criminality. Women and youth groups in Kebbi state have refused to attend presidential campaign of People's Democratic Party (PDP). They declared support and rally for the presidential candidate of People’s Trust Mr Gbenga Olawepo Hashim.
