Presidential candidate of People’s Trust (PT) in the scheduled February 16 election, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has called on the General Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee and the Nigeria Judicial Council (NJC) to intervene and amicably resolve the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, in order to avert political and constitutional crises. The Middle Belt Forum has adopted the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT), Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its common Presidential candidate for the February 16 presidential election. Leaders of the Forum, at a meeting in Abuja on Thursday ratified the choice of Olawepo-Hashim, capping a process that started some six months earlier. The weekly Facebook rating of presidential candidates in Nigeria has delivered a major upset as Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim of People's Trust has overtaken Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party. Mr Rights has learnt that a canoe carrying 18 passengers yesterday, 1st December 2018, capsized in River Niger, Choppy water, at Edu local government area of Kwara State, Nigeria. An eye witness told Mr Rights that, the incident happened around 10am, as the canoe was carrying people from Edu local government area of Kwara State to Niger State.
