Olawepo-Hashim urges Abubakar-led Peace Committee, NJC to break logjam over CJN's suspension

Image
Presidential candidate of People’s Trust (PT) in the scheduled February 16 election, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has called on the General Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee and the Nigeria Judicial Council (NJC) to intervene and amicably resolve the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, in order to avert political and constitutional crises. Olawepo-Hashim made the call against the backdrop of the combative and intransigent position taken by President Muhammadu Buhari who last Friday acted on a black market ex-parte order procured at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to suspend Onnoghen and swear in his stead Justice Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN. He said in an interview on Monday in Abuja that all presidential candidates, including President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, were made to sign a peace, which among others, was to ensure peace before and after the election. Olawepo-Hashim, however, lamented that the suspension of ...

Atiku behaved like a yahoo boy in his visit to America- APC

PRESS STATEMENT BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL ON ATIKU’S CLANDESTINE VISIT TO THE U.S In our press release issued on Sunday, December 30, 2018, titled “WHEN THE THIEF IS SHOUTING THIEF”: THE CASE OF ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR”, we correctly predicted as follows: “By running for President of Nigeria, Atiku intends to get some immunity from prosecution. Already he is hoping to obtain a visa to visit the US, as a guest of the State department, a concession that the US will grant to a Presidential candidate of Africa’s biggest Nation”. Therefore, we were not surprised by his visit to the U.S. For us, this visit is really a non-event considering the issues involved in the forthcoming election. However, we have bad news for those who think this is a momentous event for Atiku Abubakar: the visit was nothing but a downright catastrophe because rather than dispel the fact of indictments hanging over his head, it further confirms and reinforces those facts for the following reasons: (1...

The 3rd Force best bet

Image
I have great respect for all 3rd Force presidential candidates and i believe they deserve more respect than they are getting. Nobody thought Barack Obama could be US president until he became US president. Many of those who mocked him for aspiring in the first place eventually became his most ardent supporters. This is how life works. So, if you are supporting a 3rd Force candidate, be proud of yourself because not many people often get the message in early stage, you are one of the special few. Believe me, when I see people supporting any 3rd Force candidate with so much vigour and commitment, i admire those individuals greatly. It's not easy to break away from the bandwagon effect. Many often wish they can be like you, but lack the courage to. Ademola H Adigun has stated that he his rooting for Madam Oby Ezekwesili even when he knew she wouldn't win. That is a principled stance based on conviction. Hon Mustapha Mudasir Ayanfe is rooting for Kingsley Moghalu, thou...

Update on 15/70 year old marriage debacle- MrRights

Image
This lady is not 15 year old as being claimed. She is actually 20. But her situation is one of many things wrong with the northern Nigeria. This is her 3rd marriage. At age 20. I mean at 20, she has been married thrice, divorced twice. Isn't that worrisome? Although, she wasn't forced into this marriage with her 75 year old husband as being insinuated, but the society has forced her into a life of perpetual misery and psychological instability. What can a girl of 20, who has been married 3 times teach her kids? What did she know actually? I won't be surprised if this lady already had more than 3 kids from her 2 previous marriage. Now she is in her 3rd marriage and life goes on. Sad

5 Things Nigeria is Doing Better than America

These are 5 areas that Nigeria is clearly outdoing the US in. 1. Nigeria’s economy is growing five times faster than the US Most people don’t associate “West Africa” and “booming economy”, but despite the global downturn, the region is home to some growth rates that would make Ronald Reagan blush. Right near the top of that list is Nigeria, that with an average growth rate of 8.1%, are experiencing more growth than the US (a pitiful 1.5%), the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and the entire European Union… combined. 2. Nigeria has stricter anti-piracy laws than the US You read that right. Despite the RIAA, the MPAA, bills like SOPA and PIPA and 40,000 theaters all reminding you before a film of your moral integrity in regards to stealing cars, Nigeria are clearly ahead of America in fighting piracy. Their recent no tolerance laws have reaped some serious results: 26 anti-piracy raids, 6 million pirated works (worth US$5 million) seized and 145 arrests. Also, whereas arrests made ...
