In the past
In the past

Don’t live in your past. Don’t dwell on your past. Don’t crush a lovely and viable present because of a past. A past is exactly what it is, a past. Enjoy the new you. Enjoy the present person you are dealing with. Your past is long gone, it doesn’t matter anymore.
Some people have committed so many atrocities in the past, probably during their youthful years. Some achieved great feats in the past. So many others have many accomplishments in the past and others even have a dirty past. Whatever it is, whether good or bad, your past remained exactly where it is, in the past. Do not dwell on the past. What you achieved, or did not achieve in the past don’t matter anymore. What mattered is what you are doing right now.
Listen, you might have failed in the past.
You might have done many bad things in the past.
You might have lost several opportunities in the past.
You might have won many laurels or awards in the past.
You might have failed in businesses in the past.
You might have had failed marriage or relationships in the past.
You might have graduated with poor grades in the past.
You might have even built a very large business empire in the past or failed to secure your dream job in the past.
All these don’t matter anymore. They are in the past.
Your old glories don’t matter anymore. Your old failures don’t matter anymore. Your dirty past doesn’t matter anymore. Your good past also don’t matter anymore. They are all gone and gone for good.
So, don’t live in your past. Don’t dwell on your past. Don’t crush a lovely and viable present because of a past. A past is exactly what it is, a past. Enjoy the new you. Enjoy the present person you are dealing with.
You have to understand that, if you are a bad person before and you are good person today, your past badness doesn’t matter anymore, what mattered is who you are today.
If you are good person before and you are a bad person today, your past goodness doesn’t matter anymore either, what mattered is who you are today.
Don’t tell us how good you used to be, or how dirty your past is, it doesn’t matter anymore. Just put them behind you and chose what you want to be known for today.
Don’t be that foolish person, who crushes a lovely and viable today, because of a past that doesn’t matter anymore.
Don’t be an unreasonable person who refuses to take appropriate action today, because of a yesterday that is long gone.
Yes, I understand that some dirty past may come back to hunt you, and I also know that some past great achievements may hold you down from taking appropriate steps to confront today’s challenge with the required vigor, but have this at the back of your mind.
When a dirty past come knocking to dent your present cleanliness, don’t hide it or succumb to its threat, whether empty or real. Instead, take responsibility, clean it up, show it to the world and dump it in the waste bin. That is exactly where it belongs.
People who love you for who you are today will not stop loving you because of who you were yesterday. They will understand that what made you who you are today is the experience of who you were yesterday.
Always remember, that the person who will crucify you for a dirty past probably have a past that is dirtier than yours. Or maybe, their present is as dirty as your past.
The vast majority of people who understand life will sympathize, rather than crucify you. Even those who might feel outraged at first will eventually understand that a past is a past and no one is without it.
What is important is that, if you have a lovely today, forget about the ugly yesterday.
If you have opportunity today, forget about the past obstacles.
If your today is clean, don’t give the dirty past a chance.
If today is challenging, don’t dwell on yesterday’s glory.
If it is demanding, meet the demand without minding your past successes.
Let me say this again. Don’t live in your past. Don’t dwell on your past. Don’t crush a lovely and viable present because of a past. A past is exactly what it is, a past. Enjoy the new you. Enjoy the present person you are dealing with.
