Olawepo Hashim who promised to create a $4Trillion economy for Nigeria is seen as a major threat by the rulling party, after the eloquent politician allegedly secured endorsement from middle belt leaders and generals led by Gen. TY Danjuma. A source close to the party revealed that, after Hashim got the nod of the middle belt generals last week, the rulling APC felt gittery and moved in quickly to halt his progress. ANN splits, as 19 states party chairmen fix Wednesday for presidential primary

Image
“I AM STILL IN THE RACE ON ANN TICKET” Olawepo-Hashim The controversial convention of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) supposedly fixed for today, Saturday, may have failed with the withdrawal of nineteen out of the twenty- six state chapters of the political party, while the majority chairmen have fixed Wednesday October 3 for the convention proper. The withdrawals announced yesterday followed the statement by frontline presidential aspirant, Mr. Olawepo-Hashim protesting the hurriedly organised convention by a faction of the party. Olawepo-Hashim however corrected impressions that he has withdrawn from the presidential race, saying he surely has not. “I am in the race. I have only pulled out of the hurried convention of the ANN fixed for today, Saturday, purportedly to elect the presidential candidate. I am still in the race for 2019 by the special grace of God” At a crowded press conference on Saturday, the nineteen party chairmen, who are NEC members, were joined by pa...

2019: APC and Abacha forces inject dirty money to hijack ANN, but Olawepo Hashim is unstoppable

Image
The attention of the Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim presidential campaign organisation has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous elements fronting for some powerful interests in the All Progressives Congress (APC). The intention of these elements is to destabilize the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) in order to use the party platform to further the interest of the failed ruling party, the APC. The said unscrupulous element, acting in alliance with a certain presidential aspirant who has been pretending to be campaigning for the office of president on the platform of the ANN, first launched a series of attack on the party in the build up to her congresses and national convention, which held in August 2018. With his fellow travellers, this so-called presidential aspirant also circulated disparaging remarks aimed at impugning the credibility of our principal in the social media, where he sustained a vicious campaign along with his hirelings. Having failed woefully in August to ha...

We wish Kwara election is as credible as Osun election - Group

Image
Kwara Must Change wishes to inform the general public that we carefully followed the recently conducted Governorship election in Osun state and the reactions that trailed its outcome. While it is true that Kwara Must Change didn’t go to Osun to observe the governorship election, it is important to state that we carefully studied the position of several local and international observers that monitored the election. Before we go further into giving our position on the Osun election,it is necessary to remind the general public that in November 2017, local government election took place in Kwara State and during the build up to that election, some peaceful youths in Lafiagi town, Edu local government were violently murdered in broad day light by Senator Shaaba Lafiagi's security. Until this day, nobody has been held accountable for the murder, neither did the Kwara State Government issued any statement in recognition that some Nigerian citizens under its watch had been cruelly...

ANN Presidential aspirant, Olawepo Hashim present an Agenda for all round development in Nigeria

Image
This presentation was delivered at a public lecture organized by the College of Postgraduate Studies of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife IT is a happy homecoming for me 30 years after I spoke at Oduduwa hall as a guest of the OAU Students Union. It was at the height of the advocacy for mass action by Nigerian students who were being galvanized against the Structural Adjustment Programme, SAP, of the military administration. The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and other mass organizations were up in arms against the Structural Adjustment Programme, SAP, as a development path for the Nigerian Economy and State. Naira was just exchanging for seven naira to a dollar, which we found most unacceptable. Little did we know that the naira will exchange for N360 to a dollar someday. Though slight progress has been made since the advent of democracy in Nigeria between 1999 and 2015, Nigeria in all intents and purposes s...

There were rappers by Adewale GP

Image
(An Article Strictly for Intending Rappers) Though it's a bit lengthy but endeavour to read on... Many rappers have come, many rappers have gone. Some of them were felt, while some never made any impact, some flashed up momentarily, fell, struggled and never made it to the path again. Some even fell from the top and to the point of never been mentioned again. Some came up materially with a lavish glamourizing lifestyle (talk about the bling-bling, tattoos, cash, women, drugs, cars, expensive videos etc.), but their contents never stood the test of time. Some were tight lyrically but weren’t appealing and as a result were underrated, some were wack skillfully but were accepted and celebrated, some were not talentedly fit, but grace kept them going. Some misused the opportunity they had, and ultimately failed to blow. Some were hungry and promising but ended up miserably. Some lost it for ignorantly glorifying diverse and unknown images, symbols, gods etc., with the u...

Kemi Adeosun: 5 reasons why Nigerians should be worried

Kemi Adeosun and Nigeria's failed institutions The Kemi Adeosun's scandal, now refered to as #KemiGate has exposed how deficient our institutions are and we all need be worried. Beyond any doubt, it has been established that the former minister of Finance procured fake NYSC certificate, which she has now admitted in her resignation letter, many months after the news broke These are 5 issues to worry about: 1. Adeosun obtained fake NYSC certificate, which is against the law. How did this happen? 2. Ogun State House of Assembly didn't detect this forgery and she was cleared for appointment as commissioner. A whole state legislative house. 3. DSS, Nigeria's intelligent agency didn't detect this also and she was adjudged by the agency as clean to be recommended as Minister. How? If DSS couldn't detect this simple matter, shouldn't we be worried about our national security? 4. National Assembly also didn't detect this highly sensitive matter as s...

In defense of Abba Kyari by Abdulrazaq O Hamzat

Image
The integrity of Nigerian state has been questioned and all its security agencies including Department of State Security (DSS), Nigeria Police and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are on public trial. Whether they would pass this test is left to the current administration. In particular, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government which prided itself as an anti-corruption administration is on trial in public glare and the whole world is watching to see, if the integrity of this great nation will be protected or shattered on the basis of personal interest and loyality. During the weekend, I watched a video of popular human right radio program, Brekete family anchored by Ahmad Issa, the ordinary president. The segment in question was the continuation of a fraud case, allegedly involving Abba Kyari, chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari. The matter in question also involves allegation of impunity, human right violation and high level criminality perpetrated b...

Why the word ‘’peacebuilding’’ must get into dictionary before September 21st

Image
Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) is part of a global campaign to get the word ‘’peacebuilding’’ into dictionaries on or before 21st September 2018. We have teamed up with other organizations around the world to advocate for the inclusion of peacebuilding into dictionaries to celebrate this year’s International Day of Peace. In many history books and academic materials, war mongers are usually painted as legends and their stories often told over and over again with so much glitz and fanfare. Stories of great Empire’s all over the world are usually stories of war and war mongers, not that of peace and peacebuilders. Peaceful leaders in time past are relegated and accorded very little or no space in our history books and if not, where are the stories of leaders who opposed to war in time past? Where are the stories of peace builders of our world? It starts with small omissions like not having the word, ‘’peacebuilding’’ in the dictionary, whereas, ‘’warmongering’’ is ...

2019 Presidency: Inspiring story of ANN Presidential Aspirant Olawepo Hashim

Image
The mutation of Olawepo-Hashim By Abiodun Adeniyi He rode to fame as a student union activist, and veered into advocacy as a graduate. He later resorted to public relations practice, and then detoured into oil. Then Gas, and now Energy. Soon, he got into politics: beginning as a presidential endorser, he moved into party administrator. And then he sought office as governor. A break followed, resulting into the expansion of a business, flourishing across Africa, in Europe and the Americas. Somewhat like a fairy-tale, sometimes incredible, his concerns have flourished, and the young, ever agitated mind of yesteryears, have become a risen man of today, with promising manners for greater heights. That’s the story of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, who lately revealed his paternal identity, through the origin of his father, Hashimi Abdullah’s as being Kebbi State born, and who’s now vying for the nation’s top job, the presidency. Olawepo-Hashim is not however your conventional busine...

A Nigerian lady, Folasade Adeluola who challenged U.S. most popular politician, Senator Bernie Sanders in Democratic primary election, has filed a complaint with the state, saying she should be declared the Democratic nominee. Last week, the presidential hopeful, Bernie Sanders won nearly 91 percent of the vote to defeat Adeluola who only has 5.4 percent of the vote. Adeluola filed a complaint with the Vermont Secretary of State Office on the eve of the primary, decrying Sanders’ practice of declining the Democratic Party nomination and instead running as an independent in the general elections. The 55years old Folashade says she is self-employed in insurance and accounting. She is registered to vote in Shelburne and cast her ballot in Shelburne Aug. 14. Originally from Nigeria, Adeluola said she is a single mother of a child with Down syndrome and heart issues; she says she has been an activist since 1994 when she became a U.S. citizen.
