A leader of the Middle Belt Forum, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (Rtd) has said that the Forum will stick to its earlier endorsement of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT) for the 2019 election, Mr. GBENGA Olawepo-Hashim. Suleiman, who stated this at a meeting with members of the Forum in Abuja said that he and a number of the Forum's members were not carried along in the adoption of former Vice President and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) in the February 16 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by the ethnic Nationality groups cutting across the North and South. Leaders of the forum, at a meeting in Abuja, ratified the choice of Olawepo-Hashim, capping a process that started some six months earlier. The forum’s leader, former Plateau State Military Governor Air Commodore Dan Suleiman (retd), who announced the news to a gathering of its elders in Abuja, said the choice of Olawepo-Hashim has been ratified by the forum. Some years ago, when Boko Haram insurgency was at its peak in North East Nigeria, sacking villages, detonating bombs in markets, mosques and churches, killing children, women and elderly and forcefully conscripting innocent youths into its fold, many of our fellow citizens in the other parts of the country are feeling so unconcerned.
