2019: Between Olawepo Hashim, Buhari and Atiku

Image
There is a wise saying that goes thus, "only foolish people take the same action that has consistently failed them and expect positive outcome". Nigeria today is at a crossroad, no thanks to the incompetent and failed leadership of the political elites that have been taking turns among themselves to enslave Nigerians since 1999, I mean both the Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressive Congress. These two parties and their candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari respectively, have been going about spending public funds to convince Nigerians to vote them in the February 16 Presidential election even though they both have damaged antecedents and they naturally should be begging a judge to reduce their jail terms if it were in saner climes. Atiku Abubakar was Vice President for 8 years and was notorious for looting everything he came in contact with, including funds for Petroleum Development Trust Fund. His colleague in looting and American Co...

Atiku behaved like a yahoo boy in his visit to America- APC

PRESS STATEMENT BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL ON ATIKU’S CLANDESTINE VISIT TO THE U.S In our press release issued on Sunday, December 30, 2018, titled “WHEN THE THIEF IS SHOUTING THIEF”: THE CASE OF ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR”, we correctly predicted as follows: “By running for President of Nigeria, Atiku intends to get some immunity from prosecution. Already he is hoping to obtain a visa to visit the US, as a guest of the State department, a concession that the US will grant to a Presidential candidate of Africa’s biggest Nation”. Therefore, we were not surprised by his visit to the U.S. For us, this visit is really a non-event considering the issues involved in the forthcoming election. However, we have bad news for those who think this is a momentous event for Atiku Abubakar: the visit was nothing but a downright catastrophe because rather than dispel the fact of indictments hanging over his head, it further confirms and reinforces those facts for the following reasons: (1...

BON's fraudulent Presidential Debate and APC hatchet job - Mr Rights

Image
The recently released list of political parties to participate in the 2019 Presidential debate by the Nigerian Elections Debate Group (NEDG), Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) and Channels Television is a far cry from what is expected from a body that is expected to be neutral and independent. The neutrality of the debate organizers were called to question, after the third force presidential candidate, Mr Olawepo Hashim of the People’s Trust (PT) was surprisingly omitted from the list of participants, in favor of little active Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) and Young Democratic Party (YDP). The vibrant Peoples Trust (PT) is one of the 28 newly registered political parties and the party is fielding frontline presidential candidate, Mr Olawepo Hashim. In the recently released list of political parties fielding candidates for the 2019 general elections, the list of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicated that Peo...

Electoral Bill: APC, PDP guilty of playing politics with Nigeria's stability Says Olawepo Hashim

Image
Frontline Presidential Candidate, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has accused the two dominant parties, the All Progressive Party (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of playing politics with the nation’s stability through the way and manner they are handling the electoral act. The candidate running on the platform of the People’s Trust (PT) and regarded as a third force in the build up to the February presidential elections stressed that rather than presenting themselves as statesmen, the candidates are rather obsessed with immediate partisan gains. He told reporters at an interactive session in Lagos while reacting to the president’s refusal to give accent to the electoral act, which he said was passed by the PDP controlled National Assembly, that the supposed top actors are falling below standards. Olawepo-Hashim stated: “The president is conducting himself like a typical Nigerian politician of the era of political decline, rather than behaving as a patriot that I have a...

Image
Ex-Vice-President Atiku Abubakar missed his chance to become president in 2007, according to the presidential aspirant of the Alliance for New Nigeria, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim. According to Olawepo-Hashim, Atiku, although qualified to serve as the nation’s leader, is a man of the past as Nigerians are now thinking about the future. “By all standards, the Waziri of Adamawa is qualified to be the President of Nigeria,” he told Vanguard. “Having been Vice President before, but the 2019 election is a different election, I think Vice President Atiku missed his chance of being president in 2007 and talking about in 2019 is like talking about the future of Nigeria and at the same time facing and reasoning backward. “80% of Nigerians want to see a new direction, they don’t want to go backward, and Vice President Atiku Abubakar is a man of yesterday.” On why he should become president, the former journalist said he would unite the country. “Number one, I will be able to unite the co...
